We received two MEGA Bloks Barbie sets to review including the Fab Mansion and the Underwater Cove. MEGA Bloks has a few series of Barbie sets with themes of Barbie, Barbie as a mermaid and Barbie as a fairy. Opinions of the set are 100% my own.

Eva was my toy tester, helper for this review. When I was asked if I wanted to review this I ran it by Eva and she was very excited to build some Barbie MEGA Bloks. Many of the Barbie MEGA Bloks sets are modular and they fit together easily and are interchangeable. All the rooms in the Mansion can be moved around so you can mix things up however you’d like. Bathroom downstairs, cool. Kitchen upstairs, you bet. It is very easy to do.

While this is a MEGA Bloks set it is more aligned to a dollhouse than a building set. I say this because the walls of each room are already built. What your child builds are the items within each room and then they can take those interiors of the rooms and decide where to place them in the mansion.

The nice thing about the rooms being a set size is that if you buy and combine additional sets you can expand the mansion so much. This is a great thing if you are playing with a doll house because you can add room after room to make a gigantic play area for your Barbie figures.

Eva had a nice time helping to build this set. She decided where to put each room and where to place the Barbie figures. She was creating a narrative for her play.

In addition to the Fab Mansion we also had the Underwater Cove from the Barbie as mermaid sets. This one set was a the same size as one of the rooms from the mansion. We could quickly add it to the Fab mansion. This one was a cute set with a clear pole that you attach little fish onto. This made it look like the room was actually underwater and fish were swimming all around.

The final verdict on the sets were that they were fun for Eva to build and play with. She would love to get some more to expand the mansion and also have more figures to play with and set up on adventures.
