Review: ReadySetz Space Base Foldable Cardboard Playset

Sabine Star Wars Rebels

The fine folks from Readysetz sent us a small Space Base playset to play with and review. Here are our honest opinions on the toy.

In our house, we love toys and play and just having a great time using our imagination. We also love screentime and tv and movies but we understand that we should limit much of that time for more hands on activities. Luckily with the Readysetz playsets that we have it is very easy to do. A while back we received the Readysetz Urban Playset. This was the large size set and it is perfect for our larger action figures like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and more. The set makes a fantastic backdrop to use in photographing so many toys. That is what I use it for mostly.

The Space Base is the newest playset and it is the one that we just got. I opted for he smaller size this time and it is perfect for 3 3/4 inch toys like old school G.I. JOE figures and the more resent Star Wars Rebels figures that we collect. And if I can find the somewhere the Slugterra toys would also be perfect. I did a video review of the toy myself this time, no kids, because, honestly, I wanted this one for myself so I can use it for so many fun photo shoots.

Stikbots vs Dinos

When I got it the ideas kept coming. This would be a great backdrop for a Stikbots movie. I could see myself using it to make a monsters or dinosaurs movie with Stikbots.

Starlink Fox McCloud

I also immediately saw this as a great location to take shots of the great spaceships from Starlink: Battle for Atlas. The ships and the pilots are a great size for the Small Space Base.

READY, SET, UNFOLD 3D PHOTO REALISTIC PLAYSETS TO POWER UP IMAGINATIONS (INSTEAD OF A SCREEN)

Eye-Popping Readysetz Urban And New Space Base Play Scenery Fold And Unfold in Seconds, Require No Assembly, Are 0% Plastic, 100% Fun

Dana Point, CA (August 29, 2018) – When the National Toy Hall of Fame inducted the Cardboard Box, it was 2005 and the iPhone and iPad had yet to be invented! Delighted parents and kids already knew how a simple unstructured and unplugged box could transport a youngster to a world of his or her own, one where anything is possible. Fast- forward to 2018 and plugged-in families are discovering ReadySetz, the 3D foldout playset that encourages imaginative open-ended play.

But this is not the cardboard from days of old—this material is durable, reinforced to be strong (so strong it can hold 100-pounds and it doesn’t collapse), water repellant, and vibrantly printed on both sides. More than a cardboard box, ReadySetz has everything a kid could dream of — ramps, trap doors, tunnels, landing pads – surrounded by a large photo realistic backdrop of an Urban landscape or Space Base. Each playset comes in two sizes and boasts family-friendly features from 0% plastic, 100% recyclable to fold-flat-for-storage convenience. Best of all, unfolding to set up takes mere seconds, since it arrives fully assembled!

Kids can create an epic toy battle using action figures, building blocks and other multi-use pieces already in the toy box. With a ReadySetz, parents can power up imaginations instead of recharging a tablet or screen. Getting down on the floor to play with a ReadySetz playset is like entering a play world.

Happily, ReadySetz eliminates the need for a bulky plastic or wooden playset that takes up lots of room and can’t be stowed away, and costs hundreds of dollars. When the ReadySetz playset is open, it spreads out to create a magical play scene. When done, it easily folds flat in mere seconds to tuck into a closet, under the couch or any storage spot. Parent purchasers of the eye-popping playsets cannot stop gushing about the experience on ReadySetz’s Facebook Page:

I was looking for something different for my twin boys’ birthday. I came across this and read the reviews. It was perfect, my sons and their friends love it! They bring it out and play with it everyday. When they first opened it and unfolded it, which by the way they do themselves, their little jaws dropped. We fold it up and put it away every night and store it under the bed, and then they bring it right back out first thing in the morning before school. This is a really great toy. I highly recommend it.

My son could play with this for hours at a time. So fun to see him using his imagination with his Legos, action figures, and self made characters. Wonderful toy!

Like many toy creations, the inspiration came from a parent when his kids were young. “I loved watching (and, when they let me, participating in) their imaginative play,” reminisced ReadySetz Chief Idea Officer (CIO) Carl Pridonoff, “But as electronics became more popular, I worried about effects that the constant use of screens would have on their ability to imagine for themselves, rather than rely on the imagination of others.”

Now available at their website, www.ReadySetz.com, the two themed playsets are strong and extremely durable. Pridonoff made sure each set was engineered to withstand rough play and last a long time. Customers report delighted surprise at just how sturdy the playsets are and the amount of weight they can shoulder and impact they can endure. Made in America, the sets are available for international shipping to Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, Denmark, France and Australia (and more countries to come).

It’s not just kids but grownups that love the realistic scenery. It’s become a go-to prop or diorama for toy photographers, videographers and collectors. Just in time for back-to-school, birthday and holiday gift giving, choose from two themes — each made in large or small playset sizes:

Urban Playset 2.0 • All Ages • $65 (small) to $95 (large)
Parents Picks Awards
National Parenting Products Awards (NAPPA) Winner
Mom’s Choice Award
Tillywig Best Creative Fun

Fully assembled, the refreshed artwork of an urban landscape is now available in two sizes. Already a four-time toy industry winner, the next generation Urban Playset includes fun add-ons like crate boxes and stickers plus catwalk feature!

**NEW** Space Base Playset • All Ages • $65 (small) to $95 (large)
Transport an afternoon to outer space where imaginations take flight in 3D photographic scenery. Start in the Main Control Room then venture to the hatches, airlocks, multi-levels, doorways and ramps.

Both sets feature many convertible features. The Urban playset has roof elements that convert to a catwalk or a helipad. The Space Base can be reconfigured entirely for an entirely different scene. The Urban set will also include “to scale” crates that can be knocked over with cars or action figures. Both sets will have an add-on pack (for an extra charge) that includes biohazard siren and light; re-writable, re-positional stickers, and an erasable pen.

Safety is always a priority and ReadySetz proudly notes, “unlike many toys that contain toxic materials and small pieces that are dangerous for children, the ReadySetz playsets pass all ASTM standards and do not contain toxic materials or small parts, so even very young children can play safely.”
