Review: Skillet Bacon Jam

Photo-A-Day #2046

Now that I’m getting interesting things to review I get to try things I’d probably never have seen or heard of before. One thing that really caught my eye was Skillet Bacon Jam or as the photo below states Skillet Bacon Spread. I saw bacon int he name and so I jumped right on it. It arrived the other day and I was just itching for a meal that I could put this on. So, today we had a chicken sandwich from Bob’s Market and I heated up some of the Skillet Bacon Jam and added it to my sandwich.

The product comes from Skillet Street Food of Seattle, Washington. They make this condiment but rendering down some niman ranch bacon along with onions, balsamic and other spices. The flavor of it is smoky and tangy. The consistency is that of pulled pork. I’m going to spreading some of this on a Turkey Burger for dinner tonight. And we’ll be making some French fries as well and so I can use some Fry Sauce too. I’m excited for that meal.

You can get this through the Skillet Steet Food website. If you are in Seattle you can catch them too, check out their facebook page to see what the menu is and where they will be.

    1. Andy,

I did like it, I think the sandwich overpowered it a bit but tonight on Turkey Burgers I’ll be able to taste it better.

  1. Must say that it looks a bit scary to be honest, and not sure I’d dare to try it out. But the rest of the sandwich looks real tasty though 😉
