Spooky Time in Luigi’s Mansion

Andrew as Luigi

Being a Nintendo family we are always up for trying out new games on the Nintendo Switch and the Nintedo 3DS systems. We were offered a copy of Luigi’s Mansion to try out and with it a whole Luigi Halloween Costume plus his signature flashlight! Opinions of the game are 100% our own.

I jumped at reviewing this game because of the Nintendoland game for the Nintendo Wii U system. In that game there is a minigame of Luigi’s Mansion where one person is the ghost and everyone else plays as Luigi and other characters trying to catch the ghost. It is so much fun and this new game on the 3DS is even more fun. The game came out on October 12 and retails for $39.99. You can pick up your own copy through our Amazon.com Affiliate link for Luigi’s Mansion.

Here is the trailer for the game.

In this game your objective is to enter a haunted mansion and save Mario. Within the mansion you meet Professor. E Gadd. He has captured a bunch of ghosts into pictures but then they were all released and it is up to Luigi to get in there and capture them again. Along the way you solve a bunch of petrifying puzzles and suck up all the spooky spirits in his Poltergust 3000.

Playing Luigis Mansion

For the first time you can play a two player game. There are two ways to play. there is Local Wireless Co-Op where you need two copies of the game and two systems. Then there is Download play which needs only one copy of the game but two systems. With the local wireless co-op mode players can both explore the mansion together. They can even battle portrait ghosts over and over to get their best co-op times. With Download play the two players can do ghost training and portrait battles together.
