Summer Swing

Photo-A-Day #2273

Eva and her grandparents enjoying a little time on the porch swing. The former owner left us the porch swing and we are so happy to have it. Allison and Eva are very happy to have it up now. Dad helped me put the porch swing up tonight after we had a cookout. Also after a long day of stripping wallpaper at the new house.

I started the morning over at the house very very early. I was out the door by 6:00am and over starting to get the walls saturated so that I could strip them. I was there for a few hours stripping the walls and listening to Marc Maron’s WTF podcast. I think I burned through six episodes today as I stripped 2 2/3 rooms. I’m pretty caught up on my podcasts now and all the rooms are completely finished so all is a good day’s work.

Speaking of a good day’s work my friend Greg came over to help me out with the wallpaper. I’m so grateful for him to take time out of his day off to give me a hand and some company.

Later in the afternoon Allison and Eva came over and cleaned more of the kitchen. Much later in the night my Mom and Dad came for a cookout. Dad helped me finish up the last of the wallpaper in the nursery. Then we went down and I made some burgers and dogs and we enjoyed a nice cook out eat in. Allison and Eva made a delicious fruit salad and it was a tasty meal at the house. Afterwards Dad helped me put up that porch swing and we did some family photos there.

First family photo at the new house.

  1. It ‘s good to get that wall paper off, that’s a good job done. Now we can get to work patching and preping for paint. I love that porch and hope that a lot of good memories are made in that swing.

    1. Dad,

Thanks for helping with the swing. Eva and Allison and I have already spent a bunch of time out there on that. Now with everything stripped and washed it should be ready to go once we get back from vacation.

  2. The porch swing looks wonderful there and I’m sure it’s going to get a lot of use making many family memory moments in photos!

    1. Deborah,

We certainly are looking forward to reading on the porch swing and enjoying our time together out there.
