Little squishy characters are all the rage and entering the fray are a set of alien characters from the Planet Ick. They left their world and came to ours. They were stuck together in a giant mass but broke apart in our atmosphere and were scattered to various places. Time and climate changed them into the forms that they now have. Now they want to play with you. They are Ickee Stickeez.

Ickee Stickeez are collectible and come in blind packages of either one or three. If collectors get the single character packs then they get the Ickee Stickeez character and round plastic container (Podz). However, if you opt for a set of three in a blind package you will get the Ickee Stickeez and Podz plus Koinz. Koinz are round paper disks with the character picture and name on one side and a QR code on the back. You can scan that code and get a number. You use that number on the Ickeez.com site to access online special content for that character like ringtones and wallpapers.

I think that the online site is trying to be way to gather collectors and engage them. I think the scanning of the Koinz and getting the number then punching it in on the site is a bit cumbersome. I did it and the link to the ringtone for Optick (the Ickee Stickeez I scanned) didn’t work. I’d like to see that aspect improved.

But these are physical toys. They are small, squishy and the suction cup can make a really annoying popping noise. Take it from me, kids love to make annoying sounds over and over. That is why I took the Ickee Stickeez to work with me. I try to use them to annoy my cubemate who has an annoying habit of klinking pennies over and over unconsciously. He doesn’t seem to notice. So my Ickee Stickeez hang out on my desk as decorations. They are cute.
