SwagsGiving 2 Giveaway: Sky Ball Bat and Ball Set

When I went to Time to Play Holiday Showcase I received a Skyball in my bag of swag. I met the rep from Maui Toys and we talked about the Sky Ball and Bat. I contacted him to see about getting some Maui Toys to give away during SwagsGiving. I was able to secure a Sky Ball and Bat set and an a Graffiti Sky Ball 2.0 ball. When we received ours to review Eva and I went outside to play with them. There wasn’t much that we could do with the bat and ball since Eva is four and can’t quite hold a bat and isn’t at the stage where she catches a ball. But she laughed like crazy when I slammed the Graffit Sky Ball onto the patio and we watched it rocket up into the air. That thing can BOUNCE!

I took the Sky Ball bat and ball out to the local park and hit a few. Oh wow this is one amazing toy. I was never able to crank a ball that far when we played baseball or whiffleball. The Sky Ball is completely changing the game of backyard baseball. CNBC.com must think so as well. Sky Ball was named CNBC.com’s Sports Toy of the Year 2010.

SKY BALL BATS

Sky Ball has certainly made backyard baseball more colorful. Both the bats and balls are different colors like blue, red and green. The balls are solid colored, have designs and are many different colors as well. Visually you get drawn towards the Sky Ball, especially the Graffiti Sky Balls. Those are really colorful Sky Balls.

Graffiti Sky Ball V 2.0

I took a look on Amazon for Sky Ball and found all sorts of other Sky Ball related products including a Sky Ball Jumbo Bat. I’d like to get that one for Eva because It is a much bigger target for me to pitch to. I think she’d like being able to hit the ball. If I used the Graffiti Sky Ball (it is larger than the regular Sky Ball) and the larger bat I think she’d have a much better chance of hitting the ball and she’d have lots of fun after hitting the ball and seeing it sail away. She’s not going to be knocking it out of the park till she gets a little older but being able to hit it at all would certainly boost her confidence levels.

Speaking of playing with the Sky Ball there is a Sky Ball League with teams and players in four major cities. The games are shown every Saturday and Sunday on Fox Sports Prime Ticket, Fox Sports Florida, Fox Sports Arizona, New York Sports Network, Comcast Sportsnet New England and Comcast Sportsnet Chicago.n And playing Sky Ball is not what you might think. I thought it was like a baseball game but rather it is more like basketball where you score by throwing the Sky Ball at one of three targets that are between 12 feet and 17 feet in the air. The teams are co-ed and look to be pretty fun. There is a video about what the gameplay is all about on the Sky Ball League page.
