The Official Start of Summer 2018

Off to Baking Camp

The kids both started a week full of Summer Camp today. Eva was off to Baking Camp at Johnson and Wales. This is her second year at the class and she is so excited to go. It is a longer format this year with baking and cooking in the morning and then in the afternoon she is doing some team building activities. I think this will be an excellent week for her to gain new skills and step outside of her comfort zone. Continue reading The Official Start of Summer 2018

Happy National Hot Dog Day 2017

At Culinary School
Photo-A-Day #4481

Today was National Hot Dog Day. I always try and get some Pearl hot dogs to celebrate the day because Pearls are my favorite. I enjoy the 1/2lb ones the most but we weren’t near Snappy Dogs or Larry Joe’s New England Firepit today. So, we had to have the ones I picked up at Market Basket.

Speaking of picking up. I dropped off and picked up Eva from her baking camp at Johnson and Wales. She is loving this camp. Today was ice cream day and she and her friends made some vanilla with chocolate chip ice cream. They also made some strawberry caramel sauce as well as hot fudge. There was even cookie dough topping. She brought all that back home along with a quarter of the blackberry pie that she made yesterday. It was delicious.
