Allison and I are up for getting new cell phones. The ones we have had for the past 2 years are coming due for upgrades and now it is time for us to start looking. Best Buy is having a sale on the new Sony Xperia 1 Cell Phone that is running from December 9 – December 22nd for $200 off the phone. That one might be a consideration as I look at the impressive specifications.

The Sony Xperia 1 Cell Phone for sale at Best Buy is an unlocked phone. This means I could buy it and bring it to any wireless carrier. This phone is compatible with GSM carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. It also works with GSM SIM kits, including Cricket Wireless, Tracfone, Net10, H2O, AT&T Prepaid, and Simple Mobile.*
4G LTE speed. In addition to being able to run on the fastest networks the phone itself is fast because of Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor which is an octa-core processor and the phone also has 6GB of RAM. This will help in delivering outstanding overall performance for opening and running applications, flipping through menus and more.

Being fast and having great tech specs is awesome but what do we use our phones for most of the time now. We use them for taking photos and videos, plus looking through photo and watching videos. How does the Sony Xperia 1 Cell Phone stack up there? Well, you will be able to see a lot with the phone and it will be in 4K with a 6.5″ 4K HDR OLED touch screen with 3840 x 1644 resolution. The extra-large screen is matched with a slim body to comfortably fit in your hand. The 21:9 extended display ensures easier multitasking and immersive viewing. Gorilla Glass 6 resists shocks and scratches. That means that whatever you are watching is going to look incredible! Not only can you watch in 4K but you can capture 4K HDR movies. There is a 2X optical zoom so you can capture more details and still keep good quality. The front facing camera is 8.MP so your selfies and videos will look really nice. The rear facing camera is a 12.0MP one with a triple lens system. It also has Motion Eye that lets you capture slow-motion videos at up to 960 frames per second for staggering films. Other features that help you take great photos include the BIONZ X image processing engine which is a powerful digital image processing produces even more vivid colors and ensure contrasts are high. You’re also going to want to keep those images steady and with Optical SteadyShot image stabilization you can. This will cut down on motion blur in your photos.

A phone with those impressive specs for capturing images and video is going to need plenty of storage space and the Sony Xperia 1 has you covered. There is 128GB of storage on board but with the ability to expand storage up to 512GB of additional memory using the micro SD slot you won’t be running out of space.

There are a lot of great features to this phone and I haven’t even touched upon the musical features. Because this is a Sony you know that you are going to get great sound. Hear music as the artist intended with high-resolution audio. DSEE HX™ improves the quality of low-resolution music files. The smart amplifier delivers a loud, rich sound through the speaker.

After learning more about this phone I may have to put it on the short list of contenders for my phone’s replacement in the next few months.

I’m a child of the 80’s and back then having a Boom Box was a big deal. With one you could bring your music with you all over the place, like the beach. Summers were spent listening to music at the beach, riding our bikes up to the music store to buy more cassettes or cassingles and repeating the process over and over. I still have a couple of cases of my old tapes from back in those days. They include many of my favorite musicians and also so many mix tapes. I used to make mix tapes all the time and friends would make them for me as well. I still have them but would like to convert them over to be able to listen to them on my phone. I’d also like the option of playing those old tapes again and listening to them as they are. That’s where the ION Boom Box Deluxe comes in.
