End of the Summer means clearance time at Target. I saw this game that looked like an old school Nintendo cartridge and I had to check it out. I love card strategy games and this was perfect for a old school gamer like me. The game is called Boss Monster and all the cards are 8-bit renditions of monsters spells heroes and more. Your objective is to create a dungeon to stop the heroes from getting to you. You play as the bad guy, the Boss Monster! It is pretty funny to have a game turned on it’s head like that because 99% of the time you are a hero trying to battle a monster like one of the Boss Monsters. I am looking forward to trying to play this with the family. I also got a good deal on it. It was marked from $25 to $7. A good Target Clearance find.

It is a fun one to take with you and play at a restaurant before the food arrives. I know that I am getting a wee bit tired of playing endless games of tic tac toe. I’d much rather play a game that gets everyone talking and laughing and having fun. With Not Parent Approved you get tons of conversation, laughter and even some moments of extreme silliness.

We’ve played the game a few times and we were happy to get not only the full game but expansion packs 1 and 2. The game is a perfect little stocking stuffer for your teens and tweens. It is for ages 8+ but we let Andrew play along with us. He’s 7 and is already reading really well and enjoying playing family games often. The game is also a good one for long car rides, this can also get the kids off the screens for a while. It is also a silly fun game to play after Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner with the whole family. Continue reading Not Parent Approved – A Funny Way to Pass the Time Without Screens
