The Kids React to Back to the Future

Kids react to Back to the Future
Photo-A-Day #4492

We’ve been introducing the kids to some of our movies from childhood. My favorite one from childhood was Back to the Future. It is still one of my most favorite movies ever and I can watch it over and over and see more that I’ve missed. This time around we watched the movie with the kids. Both of the kids were into the movie. They watched attentively and Eva was having giggle fits at certain parts. She laughed every time Doc Brown was on the screen. He did steal many scenes with his mannerisms and facial expressions.

Andrew started out pretty well but quickly succumbed to the time of day, we started the movie at 7pm. The kids usually start getting ready to sleep not long after 7pm. Andrew made it up until Marty actually went back to 1955. Then he was down for the count. Eva remained awake throughout the movie and I could tell that she really enjoyed it. There was only one part that Eva didn’t like and that was when Doc Brown is shot by the Libyans. She got through it and enjoyed the rest of the movie. I wonder if she knew that he wouldn’t remain dead?

Eva also had some interesting questions about time travel and also the time space continuum. Actually, Andrew asked me about the time space continuum right before the movie. He learned that term on Alvin and the Chipmunks. Crazy. I made a little video of the kids and their questions and reactions to the movie.

15 Years… That’s a Long Time! Doing What?

My LEGO Dimensions
Photo-A-Day #4166

If you look at today’s photo there are a bunch of Fun Packs that I bought and also three sets that were sent to me for free from Warner Bros. They are the Krusty the Clown Fun Pack, the Joker and Harley Quinn Team Pack and the Back to the Future Level Pack. I will be doing a bunch of videos about them soon and sharing my personal opinions.

We’ve been playing LEGO Dimensions every day since I opened the game and loving every minute of it. I love the humor, the references and the connections that are found in the game. It is really a fun one to play.

Today was Thursday so it is 10% off for Toys R Us card holders. I went over and found some things for Andrew’s birthday. They had Finding Dory erasers on clearance for $0.58 each and with and additional 10% off was an even better deal. They also had LEGO Dimensions fun packs on sale 3 for $25. I picked up Doc Brown, Stay Puft and Wonder Woman. I’ve been letting the kids open up a pack each day and assemble the character and vehicles. They have enjoyed that very much.

Today was also a day where I had to come in to work for a special meeting with some VPs. I’m going to hit my 15 year mark in 11 days. I started at my current company on September 19, 2001. When you hit 15 years you get an additional year of vacation. You also get invited to come and talk to some of the VPs. It is a roundtable discussion along with the other people who are hitting 15 years. You can submit some questions before the session and also ask some during the session. It was somewhat informative and overall interesting. However, there was one of those people in the session, one of those people who enjoys the sound of their own voice a little too much. That makes it frustrating. If you have ever been at a conference and they give people the chance to ask questions then you know what I am talking about. The type of person who gives a little speech about themselves before they actually ask a question, if they ask a question at all. Well, that was the type of person that was in our session. We would have ended on time instead of 30 minutes late if they would just ask an actual question.
