For our Valentine’s Day we had a no school day for Eva so we were able to have a nice family breakfast. Andrew Helped Allison mix up the pancakes. We also had Kielbasa as we had forgotten to get sausage and bacon, both. But Kielbasa stepped up and was great for breakfast. It was a nice breakfast. Allison had the kids make some sweet card for me and they got me some Peanut M&Ms and a LEGO creator set. Eva picked that out.
If you have been following this blog then you know that as a family we went to see The Lion King in 3D a week or so ago. Eva did not enjoy herself because it was too loud and she started out scared from a 3D trailer for Happy Feet 2. Well, when the movie was over she told me that if we got a copy of The Lion King on DVD that we should sell it. The next day the DVD arrived for this review. I left it on the kitchen counter and Eva found it. She promptly told Allison that she loved the movie and wanted to watch it at night. Huh? Who is this kid who emotionally drained us when we watched it in 3D? No matter she’s all about The Lion King now.
The Lion King is one of Allison’s favorite movies ever and our family collection of Disney movies had an empty slot because somehow neither of us bought the movie when it originally was released. Now with the movie on Blu-ray and DVD in one set we can enjoy the movie over and over as a family. In between singing “the Tide is Hive” Eva has been singing songs from The Lion King. She gets giggly and terrified when I quote Scar (her least favorite character) and she loves when we pretend to be the hyenas saying “Mufasa!” Eva even had Allison color in a giant Crayola poster of Mufasa that hangs on her closet door now.
