Popes-Mas was a Success

Photo-A-Day #3557

Keeping up with my blogging over the holidays was just not happening. I wound down big time and spent as much time as I could with my family. Whether it was going for visits with relatives or hitting the movies with the kids and Allison we kept very busy and by the end of the day I was lucky if I got my photo posted. Now I’m back on track and will have to backtrack and fill in content with my photos from the past days. So many things happened during our vacation and I want to keep them all recorded on this blog.

Today was the last day of my vacation. I had to go back to work after we had our friends, the Popes, come down from New Hampshire to have a special holiday meal. We had my turkey from work and Allison made a bunch of tasty extras like green bean casserole, roasted potatoes and we got some very delicious stuffing from Munroe Dairy. We had a great time with everyone and the kids had lots of fun playing together.

Dig in to Disney’s Feast

Disney's Feast

When I was on a press trip to Disney I got to see all of this great Disney short called Feast. It is a story about a little dog named Winston and his adventures with food. But the story is about so much more. You can see the whole story before Big Hero 6 starting November 7. But you can get a quick little taste of Feast right now.

FEAST

U.S. Release Date: November 7, 2014 in front of “Big Hero 6”

Director: Patrick Osborne
Producer: Kristina Reed

“Feast,” a new short from first-time director Patrick Osborne (head of animation for “Paperman”) and Walt Disney Animation Studios, is the story of one man’s love life as seen through the eyes of his best friend and dog, Winston, and revealed bite by bite through the meals they share.

  • Director Patrick Osborne, who joined Walt Disney Animation Studios in 2008 as an animator on “Bolt,” took part in the Studio’s Spark program—which invites artists to explore their own unique ideas in a month-long project that is presented to the Studio team. His experimental short “Pet” was a hit among his fellow Disney artists. Osborne, whose credits Disney’s 2010 feature “Tangled” and 2012’s Oscar®-winning short “Paperman,” for which he served as head of animation, was later tapped as co-head of animation for the upcoming feature “Big Hero 6.” But his plans changed when he pitched the idea for “Feast” as part of WDAS’ new shorts program—the project was greenlit with Osborne as director.
  • Producer Kristina Reed produced 2012’s Oscar®-winning short “Paperman.”
