Skeleton Wedding Cake

Photo-A-Day #1986

Today I was able to take photos for my cousin David and his wife Heather at their wedding. They had a simple down home wedding where Heather’s sister made the meal, I took a few photos and Grandpa Bennett did a blessing. Grandpa Bennett does the blessing for all family weddings and they are always great.

David and Heather are unique and have many great interests and their wedding was also unique. I was happy to take photos but wish I had caught the actual ceremony. They knew that I wouldn’t be able to ahead of time but either way they were happy I could take some photos. My grandmother used one of my Flips to record the ceremony and what is great about technology these days would be being able to give them the photos and the video right after the reception.

Heather’s sister also made three great cakes: Chocolate, Carrot and Yellow. They were all delicious. One of the cakes had a skeleton bride and groom, another had custom Dungeons and Dragons Characters and the other had a couple of paper owls. No matter the cake topper the cakes themselves were absolutely delicious and they two love each other so much. Don’t the look happy.

Good Instincts

Good Instincts
Photo-A-Day #1485

Allison tells me that whenever the photographer or videographer at a wedding stands in front of me it means I have good instincts. I think it is because they like to stand in front of any guy who has a camera as big as theirs. Not that I’d ever get in the way of a professional photographer who is being paid for a wedding or event. I just seem to always grab the spot right behind the real photographer.

Last night Allison and I went to the wedding of her cousin Beth. We had a very nice time and got to spend that time with her parents, cousins, brother and Sister-In-Law, grandparents, aunts and uncles. The wedding was a very nice one and everyone had a great time. I took a bunch of photos but need to do some processing. They are all pretty grainy because I didn’t use flash so as not to disturb anyone. When I get a moment, not sure when, I’ll have to post those photos and the pajama party ones.

Yesterday was also Free Comic book day and I picked up books at Newbury comics as well as at Wild Time Comics. Wild Time is my local comic shop but occasionally something on my pull/sub list gets missed, this stinks because I pick up my books infrequently so I end up having to go somewhere else to find the books that got missed. Yesterday was a pretty good haul too.

We left Eva with our friends T.R. and Michael, they took her to dinner and she entertained them to no end. She also, thankfully, slept very well for them. We really appreciate that they took the time to help us. Apparently it also helped them work on their wedding plans as well.
