Tonight Allison and I went to Feehan for the new Feehan Family night. Tomorrow is the first day of school and while we sat int he auditorium with the upper administration for a welcome and also a question and answer period Eva was in her homeroom getting to know other students. We were briefed on how drop off would go and I assume how pickup would go as well. I don’t think that was ever stated explicitly but I will do my best picking Eva up tomorrow.
When we were leaving the auditorium one of my high school friends, Jenn said hello to us and told us how her daughter was excited to meet up with Eva again after being in plays years ago. They became friendly once again during Freshman academy. So, as we are walking out of the auditorium we look across the way and see Jenn’s daughter and Eva right behind her. They had found each other at their assembly and also some other friends from Freshman Academy.
We visited Bishop Feehan tonight for their new student open house and information night. It was an informational night filled with details for the upcoming year. I’m pretty excited for Eva to go to my old High School. I think she’s going to need a little convincing. She’s found her sarcastic genes as of late. I’m pretty good at dealing with the comments and helping to turn things into positives.
One thing that the school does is they have a Summer session like an orientation. The Summer Session is set up so that each student can get the information they need before they start their High School career. I think that once she does the Summer session she’s going to meet some new friends. Some of her very good friends are also attending Feehan and so she’ll have some good people around her as she meets new people. Getting involved with clubs is probably going to be one of the most important things. Once she gets involved in some clubs and finds her people then she’ll be more excited about going.
