Reading Together

Photo-A-Day #3616

the kids went to bed later tonight because Eva had a late night of dance and Andrew had a decent nap. Andrew was still wide awake when Eva came home so she read him a couple of books before bed. It must have done the trick because once she was done it was prayers and lights out and he was down for the count. I love that the kids will read together. Sometimes Andrew even reads to Eva, or rather, describes what he’s seeing on the page and telling her what he remembers of the story. It is a start and we do try to encourage that in him,

Our Little Readers

Photo-A-Day #3115

I was working in the kitchen this morning and took a moment to walk back to the living room. I came upon this little scene of the kids reading on the stairs. Eva is a fantastic reader. She told us the other night that a special box of more advanced books was brought to her classroom for her to read. I’m so proud. And look at Andrew. He’s so in love with his big sister and is trying to be more like her. He’s starting to identify letters now and we’re working on helping out his love for reading as well. He’s gotten very much into Curious George lately and loves his “Ooh Ooh” stories.
