Marvel LEGO Set Review: Iron Man: Detroit Steel Strikes #76077

Last week Brian and I recorded three episodes of Built from Bricks. One of the segments was a side-by-side speed build of the LEGO set Iron Man: Detroit Steel Strikes. This is set number 76077. While filming I forgot that the camera only films 15 minutes at a time and then stops. So, as we built and we talked the camera stopped. We missed the entire end of the video where we see who won the speed build. You’ll have to wait to find out which of us built Lola faster.

Today Andrew and I built the rest of the set. We built Iron man, Justin Hammer and Detroit Steel. I like the whole set. There are some great pieces in it including Lola, Coulson and Detroit Steel. Iron man comes with these little pieces that clip on to his hands and then when you press on them they pop off and fire at the bad guys. Detroit Steel has a Gatling gun on one arm and a giant saw on the other. It is pretty posable as well.

I also decided that while shooting the photos I would incorporate Brian’s SigFig into the shoot. Poor Brian caught up in Detroit Steel’s grip.

Looking Ahead with TMNT, LEGO Avengers, and The Galaxy S7 Edge

The Galaxy S7 Edge comes out tomorrow. Ever since I saw the Samsung event annouceing this new phone I have been looking forward to it. I wasn’t quite sure if I should wait to see if it would be coming to me from the Imagelogger program, but when I saw that I’d get a free Gear VR as well then I jumped and pre-ordered it. Then I went to the Verizon store to turn in one of my existing phones (I have a bunch from review) and get some credits. So that will cover my change to the new phone.

After my trip to The Verizon store I popped in to Toys R Us and saw that they had some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Sprukits on clearance. The price was excellent and I am looking forward to making some videos of me assembling those TMNT Sprukits. Those were great looking kits and when I saw them at Toy Fair I really wanted to get them. I’d like to see them make even better level 2 or 3 figures.

When I got home I found a nice big box from the #PlayLikeHasbro program that I am part of. The box contained some My Little Pony Equestria Girls Minis, Mr. Potato Head Bumblebee, Transformers and some Titan Series figures like Iron Man and Rey from A Force Awakens.

Oh yeah, and you may have noticed that I got a haircut.
