Lightsaber Balloons and Games of Splatoon

Andrew and I played Splatoon a couple of times today. I downloaded it the other night as it was on sale on the eshop for about $40. It was a good discount and I knew that they would like it because it is a game that Andrew plays every time that we go into Target. When the kids and I got home we all played the game and I was amazed at how quickly the kids picked it up. Eva played for the first time and kicked all our butts three times in a row. She loves to trash talk, too. Not that she really knows much trash talk except for “Oh Yeah!”. We had a nice time playing until Andrew went a little too wild and he rolled over on the Wii U gamepad. I had to put a stop to it and turn off the game. He’s got to chill out and not break something that we enjoy playing as a family.

I took the kids to Friendly’s tonight and when our meal was over there was a Balloon Artist. The Balloon Artist made some nice balloon lightsabers for the kids. They both wanted the same thing. Then they made some epic poses. I got a little of them goofing around with their lightsabers after they got them. They are so silly.

Tonight when everyone came home Eva wanted to play with something so I took the build your own lightsaber toy from my latest Cooper & Kid Kit. This new kit is all about Light. I haven’t had time to really dive into it yet but there are some fun activities inside. Once Eva had played with the lightsaber Andrew wanted his turn. The lightsaber building kit is fun. You can switch out lenses to make the light more diffused or focused. You can also choose from 4 different colors. The one thing I wasn’t that impressed with was how easily the color crystals pop right out. They don’t stay in well at all. Sure this isn’t really a playable toy but rather a Science experiment but still. It would have been perfect if it was a bit bigger and if the crystals stayed in place.
