2019’s THE LION KING All-Star Cast Announcement

THE LION KING Logo

THE LION KING is being remade by director, Jon Favreau and Disney has announced the cast in a press release on November 1. The movie isn’t coming to theaters until July 19, 2019, but I am excited. The original animated movie was one of the best things that Disney has ever produced. I am really excited about who they have chosen to be a part of this movie. I think that Donald Glover is a great choice for Simba and of course Mufasa has to be James Earl Jones. How awesome is that! Chiwetel Ejiofor is going to make a fantastic Scar, too and a superstar like BeyoncĂ© Knowles-Carter as Nala is incredible! She made an announcement of her own on Facebook. You can see more about the movie below.

Who is this kid who emotionally drained us when we watched it in 3D? No matter she’s all about The Lion King now.

The Lion King is one of Allison’s favorite movies ever and our family collection of Disney movies had an empty slot because somehow neither of us bought the movie when it originally was released. Now with the movie on Blu-ray and DVD in one set we can enjoy the movie over and over as a family. In between singing “the Tide is Hive” Eva has been singing songs from The Lion King. She gets giggly and terrified when I quote Scar (her least favorite character) and she loves when we pretend to be the hyenas saying “Mufasa!” Eva even had Allison color in a giant Crayola poster of Mufasa that hangs on her closet door now.
