Linked In
Photo-A-Day #1381

No, I didn’t join Linked in or anything like that. I have enough on my social networking plate. Today’s image is of the chain link fence wall from Taylor’s back yard puppy pen. After the snow stopped I went out with my camera and took a bunch of photos. I liked this one the best.

In keeping with my New Year’s Commitments I started reading a bunch of my photography magazines. In Popular Photography I learned a few tips that will help you with your digital camera. The tips come from an editorial by John Owens. One is setting your ISO to 400 rather than the auto setting which fluctuates between 200 and 800. But if you are doing low light work you can reset it to something higher. I tried the tips from the article and for a while I will keep my ISO to 400 for my standard shots. I’ve also gone and switched to Raw mode/JPEG mode for my shots. Next plan is to follow the rest of the advice and read my whole owners manual plus the D80 field guide.

Hoodsie Cups

Hoodsie Cups
Photo-A-Day #1316

When I was a kid the one thing I really looked forward to when I went to a birthday party was whether or not there were Hoodsie Cups. I guess I got so excited over Eva’s first birthday and wanted to make sure that we had enough of them on hand that I bought a supply that has lasted us for a whole extra month. But they are so tasty.

Today was an interesting day at work. I am in a new position now and it is like I’ve changed companies completely because I have to learn a whole new dynamic. Don’t get me wrong I really like that but it is all so new and different. I am now going to be a trainer of new hires as well as an asset to existing marketing support reps. This means that I will be working one-on-one, in small groups and also in front of large groups. I have already found something that I think will make a great project and that is working with Adobe Captivate. I have some big plans for that program and it is really great because I know Adobe products very well.

I received my latest copy of Popular Photography and they are offering that if I renew for one year they will give me two Gift Subscriptions to send to friends. I’m pretty sure that means a contest is on the horizon because I would really like to offer that to someone. Two someones actually.

NBC has given the ax to freshman show My Own Worst Enemy. I’ve been watching it and I don’t hate it. It isn’t the best show out there but it is pretty decent. Then again, I am a big fan of Christian Slater. I guess I’ll have to watch Gleaming the Cube, Heathers and Pump Up The Volume to mark the passing of this show.

I installed the WordPress 2.7 Beta in an effort to fix whatever issue is happening with the indefinite loop of custom fields. They are all Blog Authors fields and I know this happened because I imported that file of old blog posts. I imported it multiple times and it created multiple versions of posts all over my blog. I went through and got rid of all of them but I think I am still going to go over each and every post with a fine toothed comb to make sure that they are all correct, and optimized for search engines.

I may spotlight some of my old posts too to bring some new life to some of the cool stuff I’ve written in the past. Going over all those posts in a quick manner today was a race back in time to 5 years ago when I started this blog. And even though I went that far back I still said to myself why didn’t I start blogging sooner.
