A Night in Providence Celebrating Our 10th Anniversary

Photo-A-Day #3876

At PPAC in Providence for Book of Mormon

For our 10th Anniversary we went out for a night on the town in Providence. My parents were kind enough to watch the kids overnight so we could stay out and enjoy ourselves without having to rush home for a babysitter. We decided to go and see The Book of Mormon at Providence Performing Arts Center and before that have dinner at Aspire. I’d completely recommend to anyone who was going to PPAC for a shot to catch their dinner at Aspire. They have a nice menu and on theater nights they do a special theater menu. When I made the reservations I put on them that it was our 10th Anniversary and so with our dessert there was this special message.

Our Anniversary Dessert

After our meal it was a quick walk up the street to the theater. The Book of Mormon was very funny. Both Allison and I were laughing ourselves silly at the show. Really well done. The play was written by the guys who write South Park. It is about a couple of Mormon missionaries in Africa and what happens to them. As I watched the play I kept thinking that one character had to have been played by Jack Black at some point. On the ride home Allison looked it up and it wasn’t Jack Black that I was thinking of, but Josh Gad.

Allison, Eva and I took Andrew to an appointment this morning and that put us in Providence after noontime so we used the Telenav App to pick a restaurant and we found Luxe Burger Bar. This is a pretty great place in Providence near the Capitol Grill and The Union Station Brewery. You fill out a paper with all the things you want on your burger as well as what you want for a side and how you want it cooked. It was fun and Eva loved it. She colored a Burger for our waitress. That is her favorite ting to do at restaurants now, color pictures for the waitresses. Eva’s a charmer.

The decor in Luxe is also cool. there was a funky light fixture and this cool painting. Eva noticed that right away and commented on it. She even tried calamari and buffalo calamari. She liked it at first but then must have gotten a a fried pepper ring and didn’t like it after that. We enjoyed the meal and would definitely come back.
