Opening Day at Snappy Dogs 2018

Snappy Dogs Visit

After yesterdays miserable wet and rainy day we weer happy to have a slight reprieve from that mess. The weather was cloudy but dry and we decided that we would head up to Hopkinton to visit our favorite hot dog ladies at Snappy Dogs. Today was opening day and it was a fun one. I ad contacted my sister, Shelby, yesterday and let her know that we were going up for opening day and asked if they would meet us there. Shelby brought her kids and the cousins had a fun lunch together.

As always Lisa and Teresa were gracious and warm and wonderful. Lisa was very concerned over what had happened with my Photo-A-Day project. She’s been following it for a long time now. I appreciated her genuine concern over how I was feeling about this project. I did share what the next project might be. I’ll reveal that when the time is right.

Lunch was delicious. I had my first Great Dane of the season. It is a 1/2lb Pearl Hot Dog with sriracha mayo, spicy slaw, banana peppers, mustard and dill pickle relish. It was so good. I inhaled it because it was so cold outside. We thought that we’d sit at the tables and enjoy lunch. Instead we scarfed down our dogs and shivered like crazy. Here’s Johnny – Friday Special from Snappy Dogs

The heres johnny
Photo-A-Day #4538

It has been a tough week. Allison’s grandfather passed away earlier in the week and today was the wake. It was up in Fitchburg at night and so I had to take a night off of work. The funeral will be tomorrow first thing in the morning in Leominster and so Allison’s parent’s got us a hotel room up that way.

On the way up to the hotel we went by one of our favorite hot dog places, Snappy Dogs and so we stopped for lunch. Today they were having a Friday special called the Here’s Johnny. The photo for today is one of Allison’s hot dog. She got the full special. I opted not to have the apple, pear and cranberry chutney on mine. Allison loved it that way, though. The ladies at Snappy Dogs do know how to make amazing gourmet hot dogs. The dog also had chunks of sharp white cheddar cheese, thick cut smoked bacon from The Butcher on Ash (Arena’s) and Caramelized onions. That is the way that I had mine and it was fantastic! We needed a little distraction before the next couple of days.

With the Snappy Dogs Ladies

Of course we had to make sure that we got a photo with the wonderful ladies at the trailer.
