Super Bowl Sunday Proceeded by Super Snack Shopping Saturday

Are you ready for some Heartburn! On Sunday families and friends will gather to watch funny commercials, consume libations, eat lots of snacks and oh yeah there is some sort of game on between the commercials. Saturday the supermarkets will be packed with people picking up copious amounts of food. Over the years we’ve made some tasty snacks and meals for the Super Bowl. Here are some Super Bowl worthy recipes that I’ve made in the past.

Hoffapenos – (A recipe I made based on an Average Betty Show. Betty has a ton of great things that you can make for your Super bowl party.)

Here is that video of Hoffapenos.

I was watching my iPod Touch this morning as I worked out and there were some great videos from Chris Pirillo that were Super Bowl Related, one directly and the other in a roundabout way

The Choco-Nutty-Bacontastic Cookie!

Last Bite

Today I went under the assumption that if you add bacon to something it makes that something better. Add Bacon to Lettuce and Tomato and you have the simply fantastic BLT! Without the bacon you get two veggies on soggy toast. About a week ago Allison made some Chocolate Chip Cookies and I was feeling experimental so I spread a layer of JIF Chunky Peanut Butter on the cookie, it was delicious. At that point I had an epiphany.

If Peanut Butter is Good....

If Peanut Butter is delicious…

And Chocolate Chip Cookies are too...

And so are Chocolate Chip Cookies…

And Bacon is awesome...

And we know that Bacon makes everything better then…

Then why not add Peanut Butter to a Chocolate Chip Cookie

If I spread some Peanut Butter on a Chocolate Chip Cookie…

Then top it off with Bacon

And then add some delicious bacon…

Choco-Nutty-Bacontastic!

I will create the ultimate in cookie/bacon fusion… The Choco-Nutty-Bacontastic Cookie!

Now this cookie was very tasty but it could certainly be better. The cookie itself was from the Relay for Life yesterday and it was not that fresh. The peanut butter was not JIF Chunky (my all time favorite) so that is a let down. The bacon was good, nice and crispy but I think it could have been better if it was a little thicker, sort of like the bacon you get at Cracker Barrel. So, for a future experiment I think I’ll make sure I make a fresh batch of Chocolate Chip cookies using the Tollhouse recipe with extra brown sugar (makes them chewier), a big bit of JIF Chunky Peanut Butter and some well cooked thick cut bacon.
