Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is out and I’m Building LEGO Sets! The Milano vs The Abilisk

In July of 2014 I had the most amazing trip of my life in Social Media. I got to go to California to see Guardians of the Galaxy and interview the cast. To this day it is my absolute favorite movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Maybe it was interviewing Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista or James Gunn, maybe it was cooking with my good friend Chris Lewis of Dad of Divas and even more great fun things. It was just the most incredible experience and so the Guardians of the Galaxy will always be a part of what I love about the movies. I have been eagerly awaiting the release of GotG Vol. 2. It was released last night and I haven’t seen it yet. I don’t even know when I’m going to get to see it. I hope it is soon.

In the meantime I have been building all my Guardians of the Galaxy LEGO sets. I’ve made some stop motions movies and also some timelapses of the builds. The builds have been fun. I’ve enjoyed building the sets and stop motion shorts. Thinking of something funny each time has been a challenge but also fun to try. I love the humor of the movies and hoped that I made something fun to watch.

Today I built set #76081 which is the Milano vs The Abilisk. This set has Star-Lord, Baby Groot, Gamora, Drax and Nebula. They are cool minifigs. I’ve now done all 3 of the sets and have the whole team and the baddies, but the one figure that is not part of any of the sets is Ego. I’m hoping that another set is going to come out later, maybe because it contains a spoiler. I’m not sure. I still want a Kurt Russell Minifig.

I tried something different with the timelapse today. I hope that you enjoy it. No time for stop motion, though.

Eva’s Trip to The Little Red Schoolhouse

Little Red Schoolhouse
Photo-A-Day #4405

Today Eva had a field trip to The Little Red Schoolhouse. This has been a trip that kids at her school have been doing for years. I went there when I was a kid, too. All the kids dress up from colonial times and they bring their lunches in baskets and things like that. She even had us make bone in chicken breasts the night before so her lunch could be more authentic. She’s definitely our kid.

Today I attempted a DIY project but it got stopped because I destroyed a portion that was needed. So, I had to put it on hold to go and get a special part. I’ll continue the project tomorrow. It is for a blog post coming next month.

I got a couple more Marvel LEGO sets recently to continue my collection of Marvel sets. I’ve got all the Guardians and am having a good time making these sets. We were going to build one of the sets during Built from Bricks but instead we worked on a fun stop motion, they take a long time to do.

Speaking of time. I did not have time today to make another stop motion or build of a set and instead today’s post is about a new organizational system that Eva is using for her LEGO pieces. Check it out below.
