Through the Viewfinder

Photo-A-Day #1848

Today I am at the dress rehearsal for my company talent show. I volunteered because I am one of the only folks in the company who gets to use the very expensive Canon Video camera. So I’m in the soundbooth between acts writing up my post from today. I took today’s photo so that you can see what I see during most performances. Most of my life is spent looking through the viewfinder.

Don’t get me wrong,. I am not lamenting the fact that I am behind the camera most of the time rather than in front of it. I find that being behind the camera I can see things that I know I would miss if I was just watching the show normally. Through the lens of my camera I can see an entirely different show and when I snap off shots I can share that vision with you. That is what I enjoy most about photography is that I can share a vision that I have, a way of looking at things that no one else sees until I show them. To me, that is one of the truly powerful things about photography or art in general, being able to show and share your vision with others.

Another thing I like to share with people is the place where I took a photo. And because of that I love using my GiSTEQ PhotoTrackr Mini. With that device I am able to easily geotag all my photos. And I am so happy that GiSTEQ gave me four of these to give away to my readers. So far many people have entered but not everyone because I know that there are many more people reading this that who comment, so you have a very good chance of winning but tonight is the LAST possible night to enter the GiSTEQ PhotoTrackMini contest, so please consider entering tonight before midnight because tomorrow I chose the winners.
