Tranquil Sleep Day

Photo-A-Day #2339

On those days when I have the house all to myself (Allison and Eva were at Paul’s Funeral and then a family event and then staying with grandparents) and I can sleep the whole day away (I work all night, I’m not just being lazy), it never happens. I have the worst sleep. It is probably because I spend the time poorly. I figure I’ll get home have a little breakfast watch a quick show lay down and read till I fall asleep. For the most part that is what happened but I slept only for a while and woke up, couldn’t get back to sleep, read more but it didn’t put me to sleep. Sheesh.

On a related note I’ve gotten into watching Game of Thrones on my iPad. Because we now have Comcast at the house and since we are new customers we got HBO, STARZ, and Cinemax so we have access to a ton of movies and shows. Game of Thrones is based on a set of fantasy novels that I have not read yet but they are on my list. The show is really good, but bloody. Someone dies by sword, lance, wolf attack at least once a show. No one is safe either. The show did really well on HBO and there will be a second season. I just checked and once I finish the first season I’m going to have to wait till April 15th for the start of the second season. I don’t think I’m going to want to wait that long.

Like Falling Skies’m watching the whole season a few episodes at a time in a very short time span. With a show like this it is still hard for me to remember who everyone is, I’d probably be less lost if I was reading the books but I’m still reading the Sword of Truth series and to mix the two would be a very bad idea. These are two very complicated worlds with tons of characters and backstory. I think I’ll finish out the Sword of Truth Series and then move on to the series that Game of Thrones is based on.

  1. Oh awesome I have read the Sword of Truth. I loved Richard and how he has to balance his powers etc. No spoilers there so don’t worry.

I also have read Game of Thrones. I read it over 10 years ago and then reread it after watching the TV series. The TV series did the book justice and it almost followed the book to the letter. There were a few small things where it differed but hopefully next time we’ll see more of the wolves and what the deal is with them.
