We Found Frogs!!!

Hero Pose
Photo-A-Day #3987

In my quest to be outside more and enjoy the world around me instead of just the online world I took Andrew for a walk today. We went to an Audubon Trail around the corner from us and I was surprised that the frogs were out already. I try and find frogs every time I go walking there. Find them with my camera that is. We never go and try to catch any. I’m trying to teach Andrew about having respect for the animals. We went to the zoo yesterday and I am adamant about proper zoo etiquette.

We were rewarded for our trip with seeing a whole bunch of frogs in the water and also some big fat tadpoles. We waited even longer and along came some catfish. No turtles yet but it was fun to see the tadpoles and talk to Andrew about how they become frogs. I will have to find a life cycle of the frog on an app or website or something to show him more.

Here is a photo of the tadpole that we saw first.

Tadpole

As we continued through our walk we went to the Vernal Pool and there was such a noise happening. As we watched and waited we saw this scrum of frogs all cavorting together in the water. They may have been fighting, they may have been mating but they were certainly active. The vernal pool was where the frogs were active but the larger pond was full of tadpoles. I think in the coming week when we go back we’ll be seeing them looking more like frogs. It is certainly something that Andrew was excited to see.

Frog

After visiting the frogs we went to Pudding Rock. I let Andrew climb all over it. He enjoys climbing and with me right there he was free to play around for a while. He cracked me up when he asked me to take these hero poses. One of the photos he looks just like The Rock when he would ask the crowd if they could smell what the Rock was cooking. He doesn’t know The Rock at all but he did that pose so well. It was hilarious. Andrew is such a little impish clown sometimes.

Reflection

The reflections in the vernal pool were so fun to see, the sky was perfect for it and the weather was very calm. Nice for shooting water reflections.

And I opened the Iron Man Titan Hero figure that I’ll be photographing all around to promote the Blogger Civil War that I have going on with Andrew at Mommy’s Busy. He’ll be getting a Captain America figure and doing the same sort of thing that I am.
