Wishing and Hoping

Wishing and Hoping
Photo-A-Day #2097

You know what they say about wishes right… You can wish in one hand and crap in the other, see which one fills up first.

I’ve been thinking a lot about wishing and hoping lately. Or rather, I’ve been doing a lot of wishing and hoping, which isn’t actually doing anything. Lot’s of non-action happening around here.

I started reading Women, Food and God and have found this book to be very insightful, especially as I work on my personal Road To Thin. Also tonight I had an amazing coaching call with Kim Ann Curtin. she offered me some really challenging things to do and to think about. That fits in perfectly with my Three Words for 2011. They are:

MISBEHAVE – CHALLENGE – UNCOMFORTABLE

If you are unfamiliar with Three Words you should check out this post by Chris Brogan. He does it each year and it is pretty inspiring to see what everyone’s three words are.

I chose my three words because I’ve been stuck and numb and going through the motions in one particular area of my life and it has to stop. This is spilling over into other areas of my life as well and that is not healthy. So I’m working on really feeling what it making me numb so that I can understand it. I’ve decided that my three words are all about making changes.

Misbehave – I’m a goody, goody and play it safe all the time. I very rarely make a stink about anything. I’m going to be speaking up more and not censoring myself. Right now my favorite people to listen to on podcasts are those who say what they feel and don’t bottle it up. I’m not going to turn this blog blue or anything but I’ll be saying more about what I feel than ever before.

Challenge – I need to make a major change this year and that means to challenge myself to do that.

Uncomfortable – I’ve been comfortable too long and been lulled into a state of numbness. Comfort doesn’t mean that I am safe and so I need to get uncomfortable to do some real change.

Stay Tuned.

I’m headed to Affiliate summit on Saturday and on Saturday night Buy.at is having a party. At the party they will be featuring different cocktails and I submitted one. I call it BenSpark’s Pinkeye Punch. I would appreciate your vote in my favor.

  1. Nothing wrong with making wishes and having hopes but only we have the power to actually make them happen and I think the New Year is a great way to harness some energy to make those wishes happen. Good luck!!
