WordPress Providence Meetup 2 with 3.0 and Mitcho

Photo-A-Day #1873

Tonight I attended the second WordPress Providence Meetup over at McFadden’s on Pine street. I am really enjoying being a part of this meetup group. Each time I go I meet more people, interesting people and fun people. Tonight I was able to spend a good deal of time talking with one of the WordPress Providence Founders, Suzanne McDonald of Designated Editor. Suzanne (@sue_DesigEditor) was unable to make the first meetup because she was trapped overseas from the volcanic ash from that unpronounceable volcano in Iceland.

The discussion tonight was led by Mitcho (Michael Yoshitaka Erlewine) the creator of the popular WordPress plug-in YARPP (Yet Another Related Posts Plugin). Mitcho (@themitcho) came down from Boston on the train to be with us tonight and he was not only highly knowledgeable of WordPress 3.0 but he was also very poised, entertaining and fun. I got to spend some time hanging out with him and talking with him. He’s a really nice guy. His talk about WordPress 3.0 was great and I am very excited about what is coming from WordPress in that version.

In today’s Photo-A-Day Photo we see the three founders/organizers of WordPress Providence Suzanne McDonald, Jake Goldman, Ken Deblois and Featured Speaker Mitcho. I’m going to try and do a photo like this at each event to record the history of this group as we grow and expand. I’m just loving the interactions with everyone.
