Happy New Year! 2004 ...

 Trivial Pursuit

This year Allison and I attended a very nice New Year’s Eve get together with our friends. The party was hosted by Derek and Michelle. Their friend Mike came and so did Derik and Sarah and Neil and Andrea. Michelle made a great Taco ring from the Pampered Chef line. It was very tasty. Derek burned our tongues to cinders with a couple drops of some cheese dip laced with some crazy hot, hot sauce (Dave’s Insanity Sauce). My taste buds were fried for a little while. I made two racks of pork ribs that had been in the crock pot slow cooking all day long. When the pieces were removed from the crock pot the bones fell right off the meat.

Coco gets close to the action, or at least the camera.

The photo here is of the other party attendee Coco, as in Coco Puff. Derek and Michelle's dog. Coco enjoyed the Trivial Pursuit game too.

As Neil can attest to, because by the time he arrived the crock pot contained many bones and a mere hint of the meat that had been on them.

As the night continued we pulled out the 20th Anniversary Edition of Trivial Pursuit and took up the banners of guys vs. girls. Please note, that in a most sexist manner the boys took the blue piece and the ladies the pink. Also note that our pie was full. That’s what happens when you get five brains full of useless knowledge working in unison.

Friends

Well, 2004 is off to a start. Allison says it will be a good year for us, I tend to agree. Please check back in with us to see how the year progresses and we hope that you and your family have a safe, happy and healthy New Year too.

Review: Lumibricks Izakaya Building ...

The folks from Lumibricks sent me their latest building set, the Izakaya for free to build and review. Opinions are 100% my own. I've built a few sets from Lumibricks (formerly FunWhole) in the past and they are really fun and interesting. The photo above is of the Izakaya and also The Apartment. they are both part of a Cyberpunk theme called Neoncity. At this time there are also two additional buildings that you can build and add to this whole theme, the Game Stack and the Floating Train Station. The great things about these sets is that they light up. As you build you are also adding lights and wires and ways to illuminate the amazing build. Once you're done building you fire up some power and the lights blaze up. With Neoncity sets you get some incredible Nenon effects light signs and even neon tube lights. That is one of the coolest things about these sets is how the lights are incorporated into the build. Some very innovative bricks were made in order to thread the wiring...

Christmas Tree Is Up ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02510 Yesterday we put up the trees and today we decided to decorate the tree after dinner. Our tree is now mostly our family photo ornaments. We have a bunch of ornaments but with over 20 years of family photo ornaments it look like the predominant ornament type that we'll see. We did get a 2025 Hallmark one as well and I have to select this year's photo.

2025 Family Ornament ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02515 We put our tree up the other day and I had already bought the 2025 Hallmark Keepsake ornament for our yearly family photo ornament. I love these ornaments on the tree. We have them from 2005 to now.
