Pit Stop at Cabela's ...

Allison and a Moose

Today Allison and I drove down to Pennsylvania, and we stopped for a rest at Cabela's in Hamburg, PA. Cabela's is a giant sportsman store. It's huge, not as huge as Bass Pro Shop's Outdoor World in Springfield, MO, but huge none-the-less.

Allison and I got off the highway to stop at a Schaeffer's Harley Davidson Shop to get me a pin, (I didn't realize that the Schaeffer's pin was the same one that I already had) and the folks at the shop told us about Cabela's.

They said that the shop had a stuffed elephant. They weren't kidding, the place was a taxidermist's masterpiece. In the center of the store was a three story mountain that had animals from many different climates. The entire mountain was split into many different environments, a forest, the tundra, desert, and the Savannah. The Savannah was in another area. They also had a freshwater stream with rainbow trout and an aquarium with many freshwater fish. It was actually very interesting to see all of the different animals and fish.

Review: Lumibricks Izakaya Building ...

The folks from Lumibricks sent me their latest building set, the Izakaya for free to build and review. Opinions are 100% my own. I've built a few sets from Lumibricks (formerly FunWhole) in the past and they are really fun and interesting. The photo above is of the Izakaya and also The Apartment. they are both part of a Cyberpunk theme called Neoncity. At this time there are also two additional buildings that you can build and add to this whole theme, the Game Stack and the Floating Train Station. The great things about these sets is that they light up. As you build you are also adding lights and wires and ways to illuminate the amazing build. Once you're done building you fire up some power and the lights blaze up. With Neoncity sets you get some incredible Nenon effects light signs and even neon tube lights. That is one of the coolest things about these sets is how the lights are incorporated into the build. Some very innovative bricks were made in order to thread the wiring...

2025 Family Ornament ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02515 We put our tree up the other day and I had already bought the 2025 Hallmark Keepsake ornament for our yearly family photo ornament. I love these ornaments on the tree. We have them from 2005 to now.

Christmas Tree Is Up ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02510 Yesterday we put up the trees and today we decided to decorate the tree after dinner. Our tree is now mostly our family photo ornaments. We have a bunch of ornaments but with over 20 years of family photo ornaments it look like the predominant ornament type that we'll see. We did get a 2025 Hallmark one as well and I have to select this year's photo.
