Race for the Cure ...

Drew and Allison

This morning Allison and I got up at 4:30am and headed down to Boston for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Allison worked with the Zeta's on handing out bags, shirts, and hats to the survivors. I walked around and checked out the booths while I waited for the race to begin. Allison also gave a great speech to the entire crowd. I am so proud of her addressing a crowd of over 5,000. She did a great job.

I participated in the race as a runner. I ended up walking most of the race because there wasn't really much space to do any running. I did end up running over a mile of the race. Hey, I'm working up to more than one mile. Maybe on the race at the end of October. It took me about 43 minutes total. I'll improve on the next one.

Review: Lumibricks Izakaya Building ...

The folks from Lumibricks sent me their latest building set, the Izakaya for free to build and review. Opinions are 100% my own. I've built a few sets from Lumibricks (formerly FunWhole) in the past and they are really fun and interesting. The photo above is of the Izakaya and also The Apartment. they are both part of a Cyberpunk theme called Neoncity. At this time there are also two additional buildings that you can build and add to this whole theme, the Game Stack and the Floating Train Station. The great things about these sets is that they light up. As you build you are also adding lights and wires and ways to illuminate the amazing build. Once you're done building you fire up some power and the lights blaze up. With Neoncity sets you get some incredible Nenon effects light signs and even neon tube lights. That is one of the coolest things about these sets is how the lights are incorporated into the build. Some very innovative bricks were made in order to thread the wiring...

Christmas Tree Is Up ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02510 Yesterday we put up the trees and today we decided to decorate the tree after dinner. Our tree is now mostly our family photo ornaments. We have a bunch of ornaments but with over 20 years of family photo ornaments it look like the predominant ornament type that we'll see. We did get a 2025 Hallmark one as well and I have to select this year's photo.

2025 Family Ornament ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02515 We put our tree up the other day and I had already bought the 2025 Hallmark Keepsake ornament for our yearly family photo ornament. I love these ornaments on the tree. We have them from 2005 to now.
