There's a Porcupine in My Outhouse ...

I just finished There’s a Porcupine in My Outhouse by Michael Tougias. It was a very good read. Quick and easy and entertaining. So I finished the book and read the last page listing all of his other books. Here is what the last page says.

“Tougias give narrative slide presentations for each of his books, including There’s a Porcupine in My Outhouse. If you or your local library are interested in his slide presentations or would like a brochure of his books, please write to him at P.O. Box 72, Norfolk, Massachusetts 02056” Norfolk, the guy live about 25 miles from me, I thought, (Then I read further, he actually lives in Franklin, MA, but it is still very close to me.) Then I read more, he has articles published in the Sun Chronicle, our local newspaper. Now I feel I must write to him and find out when he is doing a slide presentation next. Hopefully it is at a library near me.

It makes me a little sad however that my Great-Uncle Richard had this book and it was signed by Michael Tougias, I didn’t know that Great-Uncle Richard enjoyed books like this. I wonder if he met Michael or it was a gift or if he even read the book, and I never will. That made me sad at the end of this book. I’d have like to have talked to Great-Uncle Richard about what he thought of the book. Talk to your family members about the books they read, you may find that you have alot in common with them, do it before it is too late.

Here is a list of the other books that Michael Tougias has written:
  • River Days
  • King Philips War (co-author Eric Shultz)
  • Quabbin
  • Until I Have No Country
  • New England Wild Places
  • Autumn Rambles of New England (co-author Mark Tougias)
  • Quiet Places of Massachusetts
  • Nature Walks in Eastern Massachusetts
  • More Nature Walks in Eastern Massachusetts
  • Nature Walks in Central and Western Massachusetts(co-author Rene Laubach)
  • Country Roads of Massachusetts
  • Exploring the Hidden Charles
  • A Taunton River Journey

And he has some others…
  • The Blizzard of ’78
  • Ten Hours Until Dawn
  • Outdoors in Franklin
  • Nature Walks South Of Boston
  • AMC’s Best Day Hikes Near Boston
I had the Jones Soda too. It is pretty tasty stuff.

Went to this restaurant tonight called the cork and cleaver. The menu was on an actual meat cleaver. One of the heaviest menus ever.

Review: Lumibricks Izakaya Building ...

The folks from Lumibricks sent me their latest building set, the Izakaya for free to build and review. Opinions are 100% my own. I've built a few sets from Lumibricks (formerly FunWhole) in the past and they are really fun and interesting. The photo above is of the Izakaya and also The Apartment. they are both part of a Cyberpunk theme called Neoncity. At this time there are also two additional buildings that you can build and add to this whole theme, the Game Stack and the Floating Train Station. The great things about these sets is that they light up. As you build you are also adding lights and wires and ways to illuminate the amazing build. Once you're done building you fire up some power and the lights blaze up. With Neoncity sets you get some incredible Nenon effects light signs and even neon tube lights. That is one of the coolest things about these sets is how the lights are incorporated into the build. Some very innovative bricks were made in order to thread the wiring...

2025 Family Ornament ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02515 We put our tree up the other day and I had already bought the 2025 Hallmark Keepsake ornament for our yearly family photo ornament. I love these ornaments on the tree. We have them from 2005 to now.

Christmas Tree Is Up ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02510 Yesterday we put up the trees and today we decided to decorate the tree after dinner. Our tree is now mostly our family photo ornaments. We have a bunch of ornaments but with over 20 years of family photo ornaments it look like the predominant ornament type that we'll see. We did get a 2025 Hallmark one as well and I have to select this year's photo.
