California Travels ...

Photo-A-Day #564 10/24/06

I’m out in California right now and I took a ride out through the desert to Joshua Tree (The town not the national park) It was an interesting ride and again the scenery looked better from the road. There was this smoggy haze all over so what I was able to see while out there on the road was pretty obscured overall. I caught a couple of Harley shops too and was very excited because one had a diner, however it was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. So lunch as a run for the border. Not so good.

Today the staff art show opened and my photos went up. So there may be some folks visiting this blog who went to the art show. Please feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of the exhibit. I can’t wait to hear how Allison, my parent’s, Tara, Neil and Andrea liked the show. (I’m sorry if I left anyone out who went I wasn’t sure on who exactly was going.) I was unfortunately not able to attend and I’m a bit bummed out about that. I would have liked to have seen the show and to have gone to dinner with my folks and Allison after the show. Review: Lumibricks Izakaya Building ...

The folks from Lumibricks sent me their latest building set, the Izakaya for free to build and review. Opinions are 100% my own. I've built a few sets from Lumibricks (formerly FunWhole) in the past and they are really fun and interesting. The photo above is of the Izakaya and also The Apartment. they are both part of a Cyberpunk theme called Neoncity. At this time there are also two additional buildings that you can build and add to this whole theme, the Game Stack and the Floating Train Station. The great things about these sets is that they light up. As you build you are also adding lights and wires and ways to illuminate the amazing build. Once you're done building you fire up some power and the lights blaze up. With Neoncity sets you get some incredible Nenon effects light signs and even neon tube lights. That is one of the coolest things about these sets is how the lights are incorporated into the build. Some very innovative bricks were made in order to thread the wiring...

2025 Family Ornament ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02515 We put our tree up the other day and I had already bought the 2025 Hallmark Keepsake ornament for our yearly family photo ornament. I love these ornaments on the tree. We have them from 2005 to now.

Christmas Tree Is Up ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02510 Yesterday we put up the trees and today we decided to decorate the tree after dinner. Our tree is now mostly our family photo ornaments. We have a bunch of ornaments but with over 20 years of family photo ornaments it look like the predominant ornament type that we'll see. We did get a 2025 Hallmark one as well and I have to select this year's photo.
