Michael Crichton has written another suspenseful thriller with State of Fear. The story centers around global warming and how there is one group trying to dispel it as a myth and another group trying to start catastrophes. I read this a couple of years ago on a plane and I was glued to my seat.
Well, you really can’t get up and go anywhere on a plane anyway, but I was glad to be entertained at least. This book also lays claim to one of the most disturbing images I think I have ever read. Other than that the book was classic Crichton. The unlikely male hero who is called upon to do impossible things but just possesses the exact knowledge needed to survive. And the estranged woman in his life. Yep, this was a very entertaining book, had many interesting theories which Crichton books always tend to have. I’d give it another read.
