Review: Chicken War™ Strategic Guessing Game ...

We received a free copy of Chicken War™ the Strategic Guessing Game from Think Fun to play with and Review. Opinions are our own.

We’ve always been a family that enjoys playing board games. Now with the whole family home every day during the quarantine/isolation we have been playing a lot more. Thankfully Think Fun has supplied us with a new game to help pass the time and frustrate me to no end. Let me explain.

Chicken War™ is a strategic guessing game where you battle other players to see if you can assemble a chicken army before the other players can guess your chicken leader. But there is a catch, there is always a catch. In order to have a full chicken army every one of the recruits has to share 2 and only two traits with the leader. I played this with Andrew and over and over again I thought I had everything right only to find that one of the recruits shared 3 things in common. When that happens you have to pick a new leader and then start assembling the army once again. I think this happened 5 times for me on one game. And thought that I was really good at strategy games.

Andy ended up winning that one. He has played several times with his sister and they both enjoy the game a lot. We have not played as a whole family but that might be tonight’s activity. The full description of the game is below pus information on how to purchase it.

Chicken War™
  • Strategic Guessing Game
  • The farm has officially broken out in chicken warfare, and factions are quickly forming! Whose Army will be victorious? Chicken War is a fun, unique deduction game for 2 to 4 players. Each of the 81 Chicken Tiles features a unique combination of 4 different characteristics.
  • Begin by secretly selecting one Chicken to serve as your Leader. You must recruit 9 more Chickens into your Yard to build a winning Army. But beware–in order to make the cut, your recruits must share two—and only two—characteristics with your Leader. You will need to be clever, because at any moment your opponents can lob an Egg at you if they think they have discovered the secret identity of your Leader, and if their intel is correct, you’re out of the game!
Sharpen your wits and prepare to ruffle some feathers, because Chicken War has been declared

Review: Lumibricks Izakaya Building ...

The folks from Lumibricks sent me their latest building set, the Izakaya for free to build and review. Opinions are 100% my own. I've built a few sets from Lumibricks (formerly FunWhole) in the past and they are really fun and interesting. The photo above is of the Izakaya and also The Apartment. they are both part of a Cyberpunk theme called Neoncity. At this time there are also two additional buildings that you can build and add to this whole theme, the Game Stack and the Floating Train Station. The great things about these sets is that they light up. As you build you are also adding lights and wires and ways to illuminate the amazing build. Once you're done building you fire up some power and the lights blaze up. With Neoncity sets you get some incredible Nenon effects light signs and even neon tube lights. That is one of the coolest things about these sets is how the lights are incorporated into the build. Some very innovative bricks were made in order to thread the wiring...

2025 Family Ornament ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02515 We put our tree up the other day and I had already bought the 2025 Hallmark Keepsake ornament for our yearly family photo ornament. I love these ornaments on the tree. We have them from 2005 to now.

Christmas Tree Is Up ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02510 Yesterday we put up the trees and today we decided to decorate the tree after dinner. Our tree is now mostly our family photo ornaments. We have a bunch of ornaments but with over 20 years of family photo ornaments it look like the predominant ornament type that we'll see. We did get a 2025 Hallmark one as well and I have to select this year's photo.
