Finally, Some Time on the Cape

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #00541

We drove to the Cape today to spend a few days with family. I’m also in a step challenge with folks from work and a larger challenge with even more folks from work. I’ve been taking longer and longer walks each day. Multiple walks and more movement. It has been a good challenge and because of it Allison and I have been walking around like crazy in addition to my long lone walks.

When we arrived on the Cape we stopped by The Barking Claw so that we could get a lunch. Allison and I split a lobster roll and the kids had some hot dogs. The lobster roll was excellent. Allison snapped a family selfie at lunch.

We got to the house and went over to the beach. The kids were able to enjoy playing with their cousins. They had a fun time together. It was nice to be on the beach. It wasn’t very busy there and so we had plenty of space to social distance from other people. I’m not sure how busy it will get as the Summer progresses, though. I hope it will be fairly quiet.

Review: Lumibricks Izakaya Building ...

The folks from Lumibricks sent me their latest building set, the Izakaya for free to build and review. Opinions are 100% my own. I've built a few sets from Lumibricks (formerly FunWhole) in the past and they are really fun and interesting. The photo above is of the Izakaya and also The Apartment. they are both part of a Cyberpunk theme called Neoncity. At this time there are also two additional buildings that you can build and add to this whole theme, the Game Stack and the Floating Train Station. The great things about these sets is that they light up. As you build you are also adding lights and wires and ways to illuminate the amazing build. Once you're done building you fire up some power and the lights blaze up. With Neoncity sets you get some incredible Nenon effects light signs and even neon tube lights. That is one of the coolest things about these sets is how the lights are incorporated into the build. Some very innovative bricks were made in order to thread the wiring...

Christmas Tree Is Up ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02510 Yesterday we put up the trees and today we decided to decorate the tree after dinner. Our tree is now mostly our family photo ornaments. We have a bunch of ornaments but with over 20 years of family photo ornaments it look like the predominant ornament type that we'll see. We did get a 2025 Hallmark one as well and I have to select this year's photo.

2025 Family Ornament ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02515 We put our tree up the other day and I had already bought the 2025 Hallmark Keepsake ornament for our yearly family photo ornament. I love these ornaments on the tree. We have them from 2005 to now.
