LEGO Nintendo NES Console Built ...

LEGO Nintendo NES Console Built

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #00765

I built the LEGO Nintendo NES Console today. I did not build the TV that goes with this at this time nor did I build the controller. I started it this afternoon with help from Andy. He lost interest after the second bag. I kept going until the whole console was complete. It is a really neat build and it works just like the NES console I had as a kid, minus actually playing games. But you build a game cartridge and it slides in the same way and you push it down and it locks, push it again and it pops back up.

There is also a fun Easter egg, too. On the right side of the console, hidden under the top is a little the warp tubes that Mario can use to get to later levels in Super Mario Bros. I was building it and didn’t even realize what it was. I’ll have to find another day when I can build the little TV portion of this set. That will be more complex because you build a Super Mario level that you can crank around and around and pretend to play as Mario.

Review: Lumibricks Izakaya Building ...

The folks from Lumibricks sent me their latest building set, the Izakaya for free to build and review. Opinions are 100% my own. I've built a few sets from Lumibricks (formerly FunWhole) in the past and they are really fun and interesting. The photo above is of the Izakaya and also The Apartment. they are both part of a Cyberpunk theme called Neoncity. At this time there are also two additional buildings that you can build and add to this whole theme, the Game Stack and the Floating Train Station. The great things about these sets is that they light up. As you build you are also adding lights and wires and ways to illuminate the amazing build. Once you're done building you fire up some power and the lights blaze up. With Neoncity sets you get some incredible Nenon effects light signs and even neon tube lights. That is one of the coolest things about these sets is how the lights are incorporated into the build. Some very innovative bricks were made in order to thread the wiring...

2025 Family Ornament ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02515 We put our tree up the other day and I had already bought the 2025 Hallmark Keepsake ornament for our yearly family photo ornament. I love these ornaments on the tree. We have them from 2005 to now.

Christmas Tree Is Up ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02510 Yesterday we put up the trees and today we decided to decorate the tree after dinner. Our tree is now mostly our family photo ornaments. We have a bunch of ornaments but with over 20 years of family photo ornaments it look like the predominant ornament type that we'll see. We did get a 2025 Hallmark one as well and I have to select this year's photo.
