A Special Night With Friends ...

A Special Night With Friends

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #00968

Tonight we hosted a cook out with my friend Frank and his family. He, his wife and his daughter came for dinner. His son had an event, though. I picked up burgers and dogs from Chartley Country Store and Allison made corn on the cob, potato salad, pasta salad, beans and coleslaw. They brought along a great variety of cupcakes for dessert.

We had a great night and the girls got along so well together. All Eva had to do was pull out her phone and Frank’s daughter noticed her Percy Jackson phone cover. Next thing I knew they were talking up a storm all the rest of the night.

It was really nice to get together with Frank and his family. I am glad that we were able to do this. So many times people say that they will get together and they never do. It had been years since we had gotten together at all and a couple times this year is really doing well. I hope that we hit a movie together soon and do Frank’s podcast, Silver Screeners.

Review: Lumibricks Izakaya Building ...

The folks from Lumibricks sent me their latest building set, the Izakaya for free to build and review. Opinions are 100% my own. I've built a few sets from Lumibricks (formerly FunWhole) in the past and they are really fun and interesting. The photo above is of the Izakaya and also The Apartment. they are both part of a Cyberpunk theme called Neoncity. At this time there are also two additional buildings that you can build and add to this whole theme, the Game Stack and the Floating Train Station. The great things about these sets is that they light up. As you build you are also adding lights and wires and ways to illuminate the amazing build. Once you're done building you fire up some power and the lights blaze up. With Neoncity sets you get some incredible Nenon effects light signs and even neon tube lights. That is one of the coolest things about these sets is how the lights are incorporated into the build. Some very innovative bricks were made in order to thread the wiring...

Christmas Tree Is Up ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02510 Yesterday we put up the trees and today we decided to decorate the tree after dinner. Our tree is now mostly our family photo ornaments. We have a bunch of ornaments but with over 20 years of family photo ornaments it look like the predominant ornament type that we'll see. We did get a 2025 Hallmark one as well and I have to select this year's photo.

2025 Family Ornament ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02515 We put our tree up the other day and I had already bought the 2025 Hallmark Keepsake ornament for our yearly family photo ornament. I love these ornaments on the tree. We have them from 2005 to now.
