Bringing new life to my LEGO Iron Man Hulkbuster Ultron Edition se twith a Lightailing Lighting Kit

I received a BriksMax Lighting kit for the Iron Man Hulkbuster Ultron Edition LEGO set for free from Lightailing. Opinions are my own.One of my favorite display pieces on my desk is the Iron Man Hulkbuster set. This is the Ultron Edition set and it was rather expensive. It is huge and looks incredible. I added a little taplight into the bay where it lives to give it some good lighting but it was far from perfect. What if the set could be lit up on the set itself? That is what the folks from Lightailing (https://www.lightailing.com/), do. They sell lighting kits for tons of LEGO sets.

When the box arrived I gave it a quick open to see the contents. There were a couple of full color instruction books as well as several clearly marked plastic resealable bags that contained the led lights, wires, additional LEGO bricks and power brick. The kit can be powered by 3 AA batteries in the power brick or with a USB plug. I am very fortunate that my desk setup has the bay where the Hulkbuster lives directly next to a USB power strip. You barely see the wire that connects the USB to the strip and the LEGO set.

I am not going to say that the installation was easy, it was a challenge. However, the biggest challenge was my own fat fingers handling these small wires and connectors. The instruction books are great. Full color and they walked me through step by step how to take certain LEGO bricks off of the set in order to thread and hide wires. The wires get hidden really well, too. There are a ton of wires now running through my Hulkbuster and you can barely see any. The only trouble I had was the wiring that should be under the armpits of the figure. I moved those around to the back because the figure always faces forward in my display so you won’t see those anyway.

The lighting kits are affordable, too. If you have displays of very special LEGO sets then adding lighting to them from Lightailing is an absolute must. My next lighting project is going to be to add a BriksMax set to my LEGO Voltron set which lives on top of the bay that houses the Hulkbuster. I created a video of me installing the light set on the Hulkbuster.

Review: Lumibricks Izakaya Building ...

The folks from Lumibricks sent me their latest building set, the Izakaya for free to build and review. Opinions are 100% my own. I've built a few sets from Lumibricks (formerly FunWhole) in the past and they are really fun and interesting. The photo above is of the Izakaya and also The Apartment. they are both part of a Cyberpunk theme called Neoncity. At this time there are also two additional buildings that you can build and add to this whole theme, the Game Stack and the Floating Train Station. The great things about these sets is that they light up. As you build you are also adding lights and wires and ways to illuminate the amazing build. Once you're done building you fire up some power and the lights blaze up. With Neoncity sets you get some incredible Nenon effects light signs and even neon tube lights. That is one of the coolest things about these sets is how the lights are incorporated into the build. Some very innovative bricks were made in order to thread the wiring...

Christmas Tree Is Up ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02510 Yesterday we put up the trees and today we decided to decorate the tree after dinner. Our tree is now mostly our family photo ornaments. We have a bunch of ornaments but with over 20 years of family photo ornaments it look like the predominant ornament type that we'll see. We did get a 2025 Hallmark one as well and I have to select this year's photo.

2025 Family Ornament ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02515 We put our tree up the other day and I had already bought the 2025 Hallmark Keepsake ornament for our yearly family photo ornament. I love these ornaments on the tree. We have them from 2005 to now.
