We missed out on King Richard’s Faire last year because of the pandemic. This year we won’t be able to go to Carvershire because I have to take all my remaining vacation time to prepare for my black belt test. However, you do not have to miss out on the fun of King Richard’s Faire because it is returning for the 40th season of fun and festivities! We will get ourselves back to the Faire in the 2022 season, though. The kids love it there and so do we. More information about the return of the Faire below.
King Richard’s Faire celebrates 40 th season as New England’s largest and longest-running Renaissance festival in Carver, Mass. Anniversary season runs weekends September 4-October 24 Including Labor Day and Columbus Day Monday Holidays
CARVER, Mass. – New Englanders have never been so eager to go back to a gentler, happier time and escape reality. This fall, New England’s largest and longest running Renaissance Faire is ready to open wide the gates starting Saturday, September 4 th and running weekends and Monday holidays through October 24 on the Faire’s enchanting 80-acre wooded site (235 Main Street,
Carver, Mass. 02330). Faire hours are 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day.
During this exciting 40 th anniversary season, King Richard’s Faire offers the region’s best live entertainment, exciting rides and skilled games abound for a full day of “escaping YOUR reality”.
Guests will be dazzled by acrobats, aerialists, jugglers, fire-eaters, minstrels, dancers and puppeteers. Hundreds of talented performers perform non-stop on any one of eight vibrant stages,
and the King’s handsome knights battle on horseback as bawdy beggars compete in mud. Frolicking faeries can be seen dancing through the forest, where guests of all skill levels can compete in his majesty’s Gaming Glen while wacky wenches and happy villagers help Faire attendees escape into a fantastical, whimsical world.
New performers for 2021: King Richard’s Faire welcome “The Captain’s Canines”, a specialty dog act with amazing feats of skill which will tickle the dog bone; The Unicycling Unicorn, a talented juggler who can juggle while sitting 14 feet in up in the air on one wheel; El Zappo, zany circus comedy; Kilted Colin with juggling acrobatics and bagpiping; the Picts Pipers offering Highland Tribal music (9/4-10/3), and the “Unspun Tails” aerial show.
Returning acts include the joust and Hammyln Hyper Piper, The Sturdy Beggars “The Mud Show”, Jacques Ze Whippeur and his dashing danger and whip stunts, The Torture Show, the Washing Well Wenches, the Wonder Show (magic), Meraki Caravan (10/9-24) and of course, King Richard’s Faire’s own spectacular original musical in two acts on the King’s Stage at 1:00 and 3:30 p.m.
Guest will also enjoy epicurean pleasures suited for the whole royal family, from giant spit-roasted turkey legs, ringlets of fryes, boules of chowder or stew, onion blossoms and dragon wings, and many more delicious delicacies (including gluten-free, vegetarian and lactose-free options). Guests may quench thy thirst at any one of eight locations throughout the realm, whether they prefer champagne, specialty cocktails, wine, hard cider, mead, or beer. For sweet treats, Faire fans can choose from baked goods to ice cream treats, including Root Beer Floats and Brownie Sundaes.
Our talented artisans create one-of-a-kind treasures from near and far. Discover beautiful handspun pottery, sparkling crystals and jewelry, and artistic face painting. Delight in period clothing, leather and moccasins, armor, dancing wings, fresh floral garland hair wreaths, hand-carved bows, arrows and quivers. Watch as our blacksmiths demonstrate the forging of weaponry. Revel in scented oils, perfumes, apothecary goods, and have your future read with our psychic readers all while making memories that last long after the 40 th season is over.
Guests are encouraged to skip the box office line and pre-purchase tickets online at kingrichardsfaire.net (note: King Richard’s Faire only accepts cash at the front gate box office).
Guests will also be encouraged to wear masks if they are NOT fully vaccinated, and pet animals are not allowed unless they are legally identified service animals. No outside food or beverages are allowed into the Fairgrounds.
