The 20th Granite State Comicon ...

The 20th Granite State Comicon

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #01355

Today I took Eva to New Hampshire for the Granite State Comicon. We headed up to New Hampshire about 8:30 and planned to get to the con for 10:00am or so. There were some panels that I wanted to see and some that Eva wanted to see. We both wanted to really see one of them because a voice actor from a show we both love was going to be there. The first panel was with Mick Foley from the WWE. I used to watch a lot of wrestling when I was a residence hall director at Saint Anselm and I saw Mick Foley wrestle live a few times. He was always entertaining. His panel was great and he was so down to earth.

The second panel that we saw was with Janet Varney. She is the voice of Korra from The Legend of Korra. Eva and I both love the show and because of that we were excited to hear her speak. I also convinced Eva to go to her booth so we could talk to her and tell her about how much Korra means to us. We paid to get the selfie below and I explained to Janet how I tried to get the kids to start watching Avatar (the show before Korra) and they watched one episode and they were done. Eva however, went and watched all on her own and I was disappointed because I wanted to watch together. We eventually got on the same page with the shows so that we could talk about them together.

Eva was cosplaying her favorite streamer, Technoblade and she got recognized many times. Sadly, the person who was Technoblade passed away this summer and that was very hard for Eva. I m glad that she continues to cosplay this character and she continues to improve her costume. She even met another person who was cosplaying as Technoblade. she was quite excited about that.

We stuck around for the costume contest. Eva did not participate because you had to have 50% of your costume as handmade and not purchased. I personally thought she could have done it fine especially after making much of her costume. But she decided not to so that was fine. Her decision. The costume contest was fun. there were many great costumes. We finished up and made it home at about 8:30pm. It was a long day especially after working the night before but it was worth it. We had so much fun.

Review: Lumibricks Izakaya Building ...

The folks from Lumibricks sent me their latest building set, the Izakaya for free to build and review. Opinions are 100% my own. I've built a few sets from Lumibricks (formerly FunWhole) in the past and they are really fun and interesting. The photo above is of the Izakaya and also The Apartment. they are both part of a Cyberpunk theme called Neoncity. At this time there are also two additional buildings that you can build and add to this whole theme, the Game Stack and the Floating Train Station. The great things about these sets is that they light up. As you build you are also adding lights and wires and ways to illuminate the amazing build. Once you're done building you fire up some power and the lights blaze up. With Neoncity sets you get some incredible Nenon effects light signs and even neon tube lights. That is one of the coolest things about these sets is how the lights are incorporated into the build. Some very innovative bricks were made in order to thread the wiring...

Christmas Tree Is Up ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02510 Yesterday we put up the trees and today we decided to decorate the tree after dinner. Our tree is now mostly our family photo ornaments. We have a bunch of ornaments but with over 20 years of family photo ornaments it look like the predominant ornament type that we'll see. We did get a 2025 Hallmark one as well and I have to select this year's photo.

2025 Family Ornament ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02515 We put our tree up the other day and I had already bought the 2025 Hallmark Keepsake ornament for our yearly family photo ornament. I love these ornaments on the tree. We have them from 2005 to now.
