Throwing Axes ...

Throwing Axes

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #01359

When I take Andy to his Rock Climbing Classes the gym is part of a large complex that includes a go-kart track, escape room, arcade and also an Axebar. I checked the place out last week and it looked like a fun place so this week I decided to go to throw some axes. At 4pm on a Wednesday the place is empty so I had it all to myself. After a little bit of instruction I started throwing axes in my two lanes. There were two sizes of axes, a small and a large. You can throw either with one or two hands. I started with two handed throwing until I felt comfortable enough to try one handed.

I found that this activity was pretty easy to do overall. I was hitting the target really well after only a couple of throws. The person who gave me instruction then gave me some stickers to put on the target and try and hit them. I put on 8 stickers between the two targets and managed to hit 7 of them. I simply could not get the bottom right hand corner of the target. It was a lot of fun and great way to pass the time.

Review: Lumibricks Izakaya Building ...

The folks from Lumibricks sent me their latest building set, the Izakaya for free to build and review. Opinions are 100% my own. I've built a few sets from Lumibricks (formerly FunWhole) in the past and they are really fun and interesting. The photo above is of the Izakaya and also The Apartment. they are both part of a Cyberpunk theme called Neoncity. At this time there are also two additional buildings that you can build and add to this whole theme, the Game Stack and the Floating Train Station. The great things about these sets is that they light up. As you build you are also adding lights and wires and ways to illuminate the amazing build. Once you're done building you fire up some power and the lights blaze up. With Neoncity sets you get some incredible Nenon effects light signs and even neon tube lights. That is one of the coolest things about these sets is how the lights are incorporated into the build. Some very innovative bricks were made in order to thread the wiring...

Christmas Tree Is Up ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02510 Yesterday we put up the trees and today we decided to decorate the tree after dinner. Our tree is now mostly our family photo ornaments. We have a bunch of ornaments but with over 20 years of family photo ornaments it look like the predominant ornament type that we'll see. We did get a 2025 Hallmark one as well and I have to select this year's photo.

2025 Family Ornament ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02515 We put our tree up the other day and I had already bought the 2025 Hallmark Keepsake ornament for our yearly family photo ornament. I love these ornaments on the tree. We have them from 2005 to now.
