Savannah Bound ...

Eva with James

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02021

Eva is bound for Savannah Georgia today with her Auntie Tara and Uncle Erik. They set Eva up with a week at Savannah College of Art and Design. She’ll be there studying photography and textiles for the week. This is her first sleep away experience where she’ll have a roommate and will be all on her own. Granted, Tara and Erik will be 4 miles down the road but Eva will be on her own in the program. I’m very excited for her. I was worried that her flight would be cancelled after everything that happened yesterday with the Microsoft outage but her flight was delayed a few hours and they got there, eventually around 10pm.

port-a-potty

On the homefront we have another new bathroom at our house. Well, this is an open air one on the corner. For the next few weeks both streets near us are having the gas lines changed. So we’ll have street closures all for a while. And we have this port-a-potty on our corner.

Review: Lumibricks Izakaya Building ...

The folks from Lumibricks sent me their latest building set, the Izakaya for free to build and review. Opinions are 100% my own. I've built a few sets from Lumibricks (formerly FunWhole) in the past and they are really fun and interesting. The photo above is of the Izakaya and also The Apartment. they are both part of a Cyberpunk theme called Neoncity. At this time there are also two additional buildings that you can build and add to this whole theme, the Game Stack and the Floating Train Station. The great things about these sets is that they light up. As you build you are also adding lights and wires and ways to illuminate the amazing build. Once you're done building you fire up some power and the lights blaze up. With Neoncity sets you get some incredible Nenon effects light signs and even neon tube lights. That is one of the coolest things about these sets is how the lights are incorporated into the build. Some very innovative bricks were made in order to thread the wiring...

Christmas Tree Is Up ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02510 Yesterday we put up the trees and today we decided to decorate the tree after dinner. Our tree is now mostly our family photo ornaments. We have a bunch of ornaments but with over 20 years of family photo ornaments it look like the predominant ornament type that we'll see. We did get a 2025 Hallmark one as well and I have to select this year's photo.

2025 Family Ornament ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02515 We put our tree up the other day and I had already bought the 2025 Hallmark Keepsake ornament for our yearly family photo ornament. I love these ornaments on the tree. We have them from 2005 to now.
