Allison's Birthday 2026 ...

Today was Allison's birthday. We celebrated by going to the Colonel Blackinton Inn for dinner. Dinner was taken care of by a Christmas gift card and another gift card that Allison received from school. We had an excellent meal. Andy got adventurous and then realized that they really did not like spinach. Allison got her favorite which was butternut squash ravioli. Eva went with chicken parm and I went with the Wedge salad and short ribs and asparagus. Both Allison and Andy also had French Onion soup.

We were seated in one of the small rooms in the back and hard it mostly to ourselves. It was a lovely dinner with good conversation and a chance to celebrate Allison. When we came home we had some cake that was left over from Allison's birthday celebration last night with friend and also some cupcakes that Andy baked last night. It was a nice time.

Review: Lumibricks Izakaya Building ...

The folks from Lumibricks sent me their latest building set, the Izakaya for free to build and review. Opinions are 100% my own. I've built a few sets from Lumibricks (formerly FunWhole) in the past and they are really fun and interesting. The photo above is of the Izakaya and also The Apartment. they are both part of a Cyberpunk theme called Neoncity. At this time there are also two additional buildings that you can build and add to this whole theme, the Game Stack and the Floating Train Station. The great things about these sets is that they light up. As you build you are also adding lights and wires and ways to illuminate the amazing build. Once you're done building you fire up some power and the lights blaze up. With Neoncity sets you get some incredible Nenon effects light signs and even neon tube lights. That is one of the coolest things about these sets is how the lights are incorporated into the build. Some very innovative bricks were made in order to thread the wiring...

2025 Family Ornament ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02515 We put our tree up the other day and I had already bought the 2025 Hallmark Keepsake ornament for our yearly family photo ornament. I love these ornaments on the tree. We have them from 2005 to now.

Christmas Tree Is Up ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02510 Yesterday we put up the trees and today we decided to decorate the tree after dinner. Our tree is now mostly our family photo ornaments. We have a bunch of ornaments but with over 20 years of family photo ornaments it look like the predominant ornament type that we'll see. We did get a 2025 Hallmark one as well and I have to select this year's photo.
