3D Printing and Passport Shenanigans ...

3D Printing and Passport Shenanigans

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02541

Before I get into what I am printing on the 3D printer we are now on day two of passport scramble. At 12:45 we headed over to the post office for our appointment for Eva and Andy's passports. We got there and there was a line so I got in and when I got up to the line and the person ahead of me was done I let them know that I was there for my passport and was told that the people ahead of me had to go next. So why make an appointment? While in line we heard one of the post office people say that the form had to be done in black ink. We did ours in Blue at Triple AAA. We failed to read the top line of the form.

So, I get two new forms and I fil out Andy's while Allison filled out Eva's. We get up tot eh line for our turn and it is a new person who immediately looks at the form and says that it is the wrong form. but we just got it there in the post office. The other person who had given me the forms gave me the 2020 forms not the 2025 forms. There are like 2 days left in 2025 and the 2020 form is still being given out. We had the correct forms from Triple AAA but in the wrong ink. So, we get new forms and go through them again.

We get back up to the line and it is back to the guy from yesterday who was decidedly more pleasant today. Allison messed up one part of Eva's 3rd form and then had to do page one again. They did not need the photo copies that I made of our ids because they made their own. After all that we got everything done, Eva's passport is being expedited and Andy's will arrive when it arrives. I hope that we do not need their birth certificates between now and when they are mailed back to us.

I would also love a job where my mistake is someone else's problem. This was a crazy adventure that I would not like to go on again.

As far as printing is concerned I am making a special Dungeons and Dragons character box that can hold dice, have a dice tower and then keep track of all of the character stats for the game. I have to do some serious work to the printer because it needs some adjustments and fixes.

Review: Lumibricks Izakaya Building ...

The folks from Lumibricks sent me their latest building set, the Izakaya for free to build and review. Opinions are 100% my own. I've built a few sets from Lumibricks (formerly FunWhole) in the past and they are really fun and interesting. The photo above is of the Izakaya and also The Apartment. they are both part of a Cyberpunk theme called Neoncity. At this time there are also two additional buildings that you can build and add to this whole theme, the Game Stack and the Floating Train Station. The great things about these sets is that they light up. As you build you are also adding lights and wires and ways to illuminate the amazing build. Once you're done building you fire up some power and the lights blaze up. With Neoncity sets you get some incredible Nenon effects light signs and even neon tube lights. That is one of the coolest things about these sets is how the lights are incorporated into the build. Some very innovative bricks were made in order to thread the wiring...

2025 Family Ornament ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02515 We put our tree up the other day and I had already bought the 2025 Hallmark Keepsake ornament for our yearly family photo ornament. I love these ornaments on the tree. We have them from 2005 to now.

Christmas Tree Is Up ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02510 Yesterday we put up the trees and today we decided to decorate the tree after dinner. Our tree is now mostly our family photo ornaments. We have a bunch of ornaments but with over 20 years of family photo ornaments it look like the predominant ornament type that we'll see. We did get a 2025 Hallmark one as well and I have to select this year's photo.
