I had forgotten that I had ordered this Masterpiece Tracks figure from Temu before Christmas. It arrived today. I picked it up because Tracks was another of my favorite characters. I loved the look of his corvette form with the flaming firebird on the hood. The masterpiece version came with a little figure and a miniature Blaster in his boombox mode. This was from an episode of the cartoon where Tracks connected with a kid name Raoul. I thought it was really cool that they added this piece to the set. Tracks was also one of the only Autobots who could fly in his vehicle mode.
The transformation was a bit strange but I figured it out. The instructions were all in Japanese because it is a Takara figure. Speaking of Japan, I just finished reading George Takei's book, They Called Us Enemy. It is a book presented in comic form telling about George and his families lives while in a Japanese internment camp in the 40's. It is a very powerful book and has direct ties to the world around us today. I got it because I wanted to read it and I also wanted the kids to read it so they get that perspective and knowledge. I gave it to Eva before I left for work and as I was pulling into the office parking lot I got a text from Eva telling me that she'd finished reading it and really liked it. She had learned about George Takei and didn't know that he was in Star Trek. That is funny because that was about all I knew about him. Strange how our experiences are around people.
Eva gave the book to Andy so I how that they will read it next and also enjoy it. Andy does like reading graphic novels so that is a plus. And as far as getting back into reading my comics, there are four books behind Tracks in the photo above. I'm going to get to reading them before midnight to keep up with my 4 comic books a day for 2026.
