Happy Valentine's Day 2026 ...

Was a rather quiet Valentine's Day around the house. I slept much of the day and got up to drive Allison and Eva to the airport for their flight to London. They are headed there for the next week. The drive in was pretty easy by our usual standard drive to Boston. We had plenty of time and they got through to their gate pretty quickly. Allison texted me part way through my drive home. Any and I are home alone for Feb vacation.

I mentioned to andy that maybe they clean their room over the break. Well, when Andy gets motivation they get things done. Today they went through their books and bookshelf. Moved the bookshelf around and will get to other parts of the room tomorrow and through the week. I've got to go through the books that Andy is getting rid of, some are good for the cousins, some for Savers and some I'll put away with Andy's stuff for when they are older.

Review: Lumibricks Izakaya Building ...

The folks from Lumibricks sent me their latest building set, the Izakaya for free to build and review. Opinions are 100% my own. I've built a few sets from Lumibricks (formerly FunWhole) in the past and they are really fun and interesting. The photo above is of the Izakaya and also The Apartment. they are both part of a Cyberpunk theme called Neoncity. At this time there are also two additional buildings that you can build and add to this whole theme, the Game Stack and the Floating Train Station. The great things about these sets is that they light up. As you build you are also adding lights and wires and ways to illuminate the amazing build. Once you're done building you fire up some power and the lights blaze up. With Neoncity sets you get some incredible Nenon effects light signs and even neon tube lights. That is one of the coolest things about these sets is how the lights are incorporated into the build. Some very innovative bricks were made in order to thread the wiring...

2025 Family Ornament ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02515 We put our tree up the other day and I had already bought the 2025 Hallmark Keepsake ornament for our yearly family photo ornament. I love these ornaments on the tree. We have them from 2005 to now.

Christmas Tree Is Up ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02510 Yesterday we put up the trees and today we decided to decorate the tree after dinner. Our tree is now mostly our family photo ornaments. We have a bunch of ornaments but with over 20 years of family photo ornaments it look like the predominant ornament type that we'll see. We did get a 2025 Hallmark one as well and I have to select this year's photo.
