Making Ice Cream at Frisbie's

Photo-A-Day #02598

I had wanted to do an ice cream making class with andy during February vacation and well, since this has been an extended vacation because of all the snow days we got our chance to go today. An ice cream shop local to us, Frisbie's offers ice cream making classes. It is more of an experience than a class but it is very fun none the less. We are here with the ice cream sundaes that we got after we made our own ice cream. Because our ice cream will take a day to freeze properly they give us some of their ice cream to enjoy after class. I say give but we definitely paid for the experience. The cost was $75 per person. I think that the store probably took home 75% of that fee in profit after all was said and done.

So they poured a bag of ice cream mix into the machine to mix, add air and freeze a bit. We each got a large tub and added that base ice cream. Then we could mix in our own base as well as other items. I had wanted to make a strawberry oreo ice cream but they had no strawberry ingredients. So I did something else.

My ice cream

I have a feeling that both my ice cream and Andy's ice cream will have a strong honey flavor because we both used Mike's Hot Honey in our ice cream. Andy's will definitely have a stronger honey taste because they squeezed in a ton of the hot honey. Th eimage above is of my ice cream. I started by putting in peanut butter and nutella. But then I went off the rails and put in hot honey, black raspberry, cherry juice, cherries, oreos, peanuts and heath toffee bits. This will be interesting. I did taste a bit and I liked it but a ful cup will be the real test.

andy adding hot honey

Andy added so much of the hot honey. This was adding a swirl of it at the end. I missed the first photo and asked that Andy do it again. not necessarily squeeze in more but pose a photo. Nope, they squeezed in more.

hairnets

Everyone got hairnets. I probably should have put mine on my chin because it wasn't doing much on my head.Andy had already taken theirs off by then.

Review: Lumibricks Izakaya Building ...

The folks from Lumibricks sent me their latest building set, the Izakaya for free to build and review. Opinions are 100% my own. I've built a few sets from Lumibricks (formerly FunWhole) in the past and they are really fun and interesting. The photo above is of the Izakaya and also The Apartment. they are both part of a Cyberpunk theme called Neoncity. At this time there are also two additional buildings that you can build and add to this whole theme, the Game Stack and the Floating Train Station. The great things about these sets is that they light up. As you build you are also adding lights and wires and ways to illuminate the amazing build. Once you're done building you fire up some power and the lights blaze up. With Neoncity sets you get some incredible Nenon effects light signs and even neon tube lights. That is one of the coolest things about these sets is how the lights are incorporated into the build. Some very innovative bricks were made in order to thread the wiring...

2025 Family Ornament ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02515 We put our tree up the other day and I had already bought the 2025 Hallmark Keepsake ornament for our yearly family photo ornament. I love these ornaments on the tree. We have them from 2005 to now.

Christmas Tree Is Up ...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02510 Yesterday we put up the trees and today we decided to decorate the tree after dinner. Our tree is now mostly our family photo ornaments. We have a bunch of ornaments but with over 20 years of family photo ornaments it look like the predominant ornament type that we'll see. We did get a 2025 Hallmark one as well and I have to select this year's photo.
