Pre-College Trip to House of Fortune

Photo-A-Day #02774

We're trying to do some things before Eva heads to college including going to our favorite Chinese food place. House of Fortune has been our celebration place for the kids' entire lives. Back before House of Fortune existed there was Fortune House and it was the first restaurant we ever took Eva to. Ever since then we've done all of the big things there, birthdays and graduations. So, we were trying to find a time that would work with my work schedule and Allison's upcoming work schedule. We had time today so we went over and met the new owner who had a menu item special called the rainbow mountain. It was essentially the spicy seafood roll but with crabmeat and roe of various colors on top. It was excellent. Everything still had that great quality that we've enjoyed for 18 years.

Review: Lumibricks Izakaya Building ...

The folks from Lumibricks sent me their latest building set, the Izakaya for free to build and review. Opinions are 100% my own. I've built a few sets from Lumibricks (formerly FunWhole) in the past and they are really fun and interesting. The great things about these sets is that they light up. As you build you are also adding lights and wires and ways to illuminate the amazing build. Once you're done building you fire up some power and the lights blaze up. With Neoncity sets you get some incredible Nenon effects light signs and even neon tube lights. That is one of the coolest things about these sets is how the lights are incorporated into the build. Some very innovative bricks were made in order to thread the wiring...

Photo-A-Day 2.0 #02515 We put our tree up the other day and I had already bought the 2025 Hallmark Keepsake ornament for our yearly family photo ornament. I love these ornaments on the tree. We have them from 2005 to now.
